'Boys fans can't exactly throw stones, but I guess a small chuckle wouldn't hurt.

Truthfully, I don't know that many of the players on that list should be knocked as a blunder. Some were hailed as solid picks at the time.

I agree, we passed on alot of those guys too

damn, they could have had either Merriman or DeMarcus Ware

they blew it...big time

so did the 9 teams picking before them...

How Millen still has a job as a GM is beyond me.

Mike Williams the WR... just who was the board pimp for that guy?

Oh yeah!

The person who lives in Arizona and is in mortal fear of snow. :)

I'm guessing that Mr Millen intended to say that these are the top ten busts since 2000.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how Millen still has his job.

I have no idea. The Fords are very patient but Millen with his drafts and social blunders has no business being where he is; at least this long.

Detroit has had so many high picks for so many years. They have no excuse to be where they are and especially without any true success this long.

IOWs, I don't have the slightest idea.

sure we can...he's been atrocious

I dont know how anyone can pick just 10 Millen blunders...he's had way more than that

There was several drafts when Jerry was really in charge from about 95 onward when it seemed our drafts were just as bad. Actually the best draft we had (before Parcells came in 03) probably was back in 98 when we got Ellis (but didn't draft Randy Moss), Flozel & I think we also drafted Dat Nguyen that year or did we draft Dat in 99?

In Detroit's case, the training staff may be as much to blame as anyone. Could a large number of injuries have been avoided with better care?

Millen has GOT to have pictures of the owner with a dog or duck or something. There is no other explanation.

No,Allah promised the Ford family 72 virgins if they allow Millen to kill their franchise.

98 was Ellis, Adams, and then Myers in the 4th (another good pick, still in the league), Oliver Ross was taken in the 5th (he's still in the league), and Izell Reese was in the 6th (he managed 7 years in the league).

All in all that was a decent draft -- not holding on to Ross was a bad move and giving up our 3rd in the Lafleur trade (I think) was terrible. If there was a "redraft" Ellis and Adams would surely be first rounders -- most likely in the first half of the round.

We missed on a few picks -- Hambrick (the LB), Tarrick Smith, Antonio Fleming, and Rod Monroe (the last 3 all late 7th rounders). But there were few guys who we passed up that went reasonably soon after that did well. I do however remember screaming for Benji Olson when we took Ross and then following his progress for several years and cursing.
