Video: Deuce Vaughn: Energy and Brotherhood

I can’t wait till he is gone.
His cliche answers are annoying, mostly because he hasn't done anything.

I don't hate the player. I hate wasting roster spots on these kinds of players.

If they move him to PS, does another team pick him up?

On a side note, he looks like an Ewok in that hoodie.

"I feel like the game has evolved over the last 10-15 years."

You know, since Darren Sproles played, which has made it almost impossible for guys like me to break the roster.

If he was just a tad bigger, he'd probably be pretty good. Maybe HGH?

Such hate for a bubble player. I don't see anyone so eagerly counting down the days for guys like Waletzko or Jalen Brooks.

It's really irrational. So he was a good story on draft day. Does that mean you should despise him?

It's not like we drafted some nobody just because his dad works here. Deuce was a wildly productive back in college and, while he has yet to get any significant time during the season, has performed when given opportunities in preseason. Like many bubble players.

The hate on this board toward him is completely disproportionate to the impact, or lack of impact, he has on the team.

Our rushing attack the past 2 seasons would’ve been significantly better if he was the starter.

I doubt another team would put him on their active roster. What would be interesting is if Dallas outright released him. Would another team even bring him in for a look or put him on their practice squad? I'll say no. Jerry was the only GM that would do it.

This has been a sad experiment that has wasted a roster spot and achieved nothing of any value for the franchise.
Its going to be tough to break the news to Chris when Dallas drops Deuce. But it needs to be done.

I have nothing against Vaughn. I thought he played well enough, despite his size. I think the issue was that our coaches didn't utilize him properly.
He's not without talent. The NFL has great athletes. He's right the game has evolved some. Maybe he would have made it 15 years ago. But right now it's not looking good... This coming from someone who thought he might have had something.

I wanted Chase Brown in the 5th. Instead, they traded up for Eric Scott then drafted Deuce.

It's mind-boggling that they cut Scott, but they still haven't dropped Deuce.

On another note, maybe this is breakout year. What are the odds?

There have been much less qualified people employed by Dallas so I don't know why deuce gets so much disdain. Jason Garrett's family comes to mind

It's the roster spot he occupies that could be given to a more productive player that contributes.

I would like to see Vaughn get 800 yards and 6 touchdowns this season rushing and catches passes.

My point is, some fans seem to have made it personal with Deue, which is mind boggling for a bubble player who has a great attitude, is a team player, and has shown potential in limited opportunities. This is a level of disdain normally reserved for players like Dak, Diggs, Parsons etc

I hope he saved his money. He had draftable qualities. But at 5'5", Vaughn was the shortest running back ever drafted. And this shortcoming was not one of those draftable qualities.

Any other franchise would have pulled the plug a long time ago.

I don't know why he bothers you guys so much. He was huge in college, and it's not as if the rest of the NFL has 4th string RBs that are standouts waiting to happen. Maybe he will get released this year, but let's not pretend it was unreasonable to give a shot to a guy that put up the kind of numbers he did in a major conference in college.

This.

I actually like Deuce. I admit it's almost irresistible to crack dropping Deuce jokes.

Overall, he was a good player in college. I just think it's going to be difficult for him. He can't really pass block or stretch out for a first.

Maybe there is a role for him. But drafting Blue may have spelled the end for Vaughn in Dallas.
