Good teams in the NFL can run and usually have a stud to do it. Jerry had his shot at Barkley, Henry, Jacobs and Aaron Jones but ended up fooling around. Who thinks they’ll use their 1st next year since they missed out and are unwilling to trade for anyone this offseason?

I remember we got criticized for overvaluing the RB position by drafting Zeke #4 overall and then making him the highest paid RB in the game. Now we undervalue the position by taking UDFAs and paying them peanuts. Both criticisms are true. But it’s funny to see how the script can flip.

I just knew he would make a play at one of them, with one living in your backyard and these tools brings back Zeke, I said then they don’t want to win.

The Jones' boys always jump from one extreme to the next. They did the same thing when they cooked up the bright idea to cut Dez and roll with a "WR by committee"

Jerry has a tendency to way overreact to a problem to the point it becomes a different problem

Super bowl contenders:

KC: spent 1st in 2020
BALT: Signed Derrick Henry
SF: Traded for McCaffrey, just spent 4th on Guerendo
DET: Spent 1st on Jamyr Gibbs in 2023, signed Montgomery as FA
BUFF: Drafted Cook, 2nd round 2022, also just drafted Ray Davis in 4th
PITT: Drafted Najee Harris in 1st, 2021

The super bowl contenders are spending prime resources on this position, laughing at all the idiot teams who have bought into that spew that RB's can easily be found in the mid rounds.

The issue is the Cowboys are always behind the trends. The NFL already adjusted for the over inflated RB salaries and prices have been pretty consistently around 3-5% of the salary cap with the exception of CMC at 7.4%. In 2019 they had no issue giving Zeke 8% (15M annually), and now have gone the other extreme of not even calling Derrick Henry(3.1%), David Montgomery(3.5%), or Tony Pollard (2.8%).

They overvalued a RB in a league that already had premium RB pricing and now they undervalue the RB position after the league already adjusted as a whole.

Yeah, but half the board acts like it's stupid to place such value on a RB.

How about just having a good OLine and the you don't need to waste a high draft pick on a RB?

We placed no value on RBs this year. It is easily the worst collection in the league.
Not really sure it would have mattered with this current OLine.

Would I rather have Henry over Trance, Zeke and Cook? Pretty sure the entire world would.

What fantasy football team do you think drafted Trance, Zeke or Cook? Not a damn one.

I'd say RBs are fairly valued by the league now, if not a smidge undervalued.

Just to throw out a number for comparison. Tyler Biadsz signed for 3 years $30M in free agency. D'Andre Swift signed for 3 years $27M.

Both of those guys are playing good football for their new teams. Does adding Biadasz at C (versus a replacement-level guy like say Hoffman) help your offense more than adding Swift at RB (versus a replacement-level guy like say Dowdle)? I think that could go either way, and that's a sign that the FA market for RBs is adjusted correctly.

One thing I will say about Saquon and Henry popping off this season. Both of those teams play with dangerous running QBs who completely change numbers games in run fits. Having Lamar is almost like giving Henry a 6th O lineman. Not to say that both RBs aren't crazy talented, but that's a circumstance in their success that I think is being overlooked.

Im still pissed he didn't go after Henry, Barkley or Aaron Jones. Both could easily been signed if he Jerry wanted to. Instead, we went and signed Elliott who has done nothing to help our offense.

I think Jerry has devaluated the GM position.

Those teams have an o line that can block and team and coaches that COMMIT.

You think it would make some big difference if we had Henry?

Our o line:

It;s a STARK difference...IF you understand football. Henry would make much difference.
