He even chipped in 3 tackles tonight.

Of course he only had 2 coming into this game. :D

If not for Hester, the Bears would be barely be over .500.

He is perhaps the most impressive rookie this year, besides maybe Vince Young.

There's been a few this year. Coltson, Jones-Drew, Young, Ryans, etc...

The Cowboys equivolent of those guys' production would be Jason Fasano putting up Antonio Gates numbers. Sheesh.

That might be tough since there's no one with that name on the Cowboys :p

It's too bad Skyler Fuchsia didn't turn out to be as good as David Hasselhof.

I remember reading an article about Devin Hester's family a while back in ESPN the Magazine. He comes from an extremely athletic family and his dad is somewhat of a legend, athlete-wise in the area of Florida he is from.

- Mike G.

Coral Gables, or something like that? it's a community in Florida, which is somewhat of a hodge-podge of amazing athletes, that Miami likes to heavily recruit at

must be something in the water over there

6 return TD's, averaging over 85 yards, 2 last night, and playing some DB in certain situations, including red zone.

I'd say that was well worth a 2nd round pick...he has the incredible speed and the desire that it wouldn't surprise me if he's a starting DB some day with the right coaching and in the right system.

Speed is everything in the return game...everything.

He did not do this well in college- so its easy to see why we passed on him. Not to mention that as a specialist you will never see BP take on that high. Just was not going to happen. EVEN if he did this well in college BP would not have taken him in the 2nd.

Maybe BP was going to draft Hester, but didn't expect any team to snag him in the 2nd round. Perhaps he wanted Hester over Green, but Green was the one available in the 4th.

Hester has been a great return guy and to go along with that, the Bears open up holes on his returns. I see few holes opened up on the Dallas return teams. The majority of the time, there is a gunner in the punt returners face when he gets the ball. Hester would make the Cowboys return game better, but he would not be as electrifying because of the lack of good blocking.

It didn't hurt that the Rams coverage was absolutely horrible. Going by the replays, there were about 6 guys who Hester actually had to avoid to score. That's 6 guys on both returns combined. On the last return, 2 guys were in position to tackle him out of 11.
