Ty Montgomery WR has been put forward from Stanford.
Anyone else have a better choice?
Later rounds is the hard part.

Bell, although he might be more mid than late.

Punt Returner is the big question to me. You can find other guys to return Kicks if needed and the rules generally result in touch-backs anyway.

It Beasley an option on PR?

The Cowboys have KR Reggie Dunn, but I don't think he returned Punts in college.

CBS needs a PR and KR ranking category.

There was a running back,we talked to--Marcus Murphy I think?--that has return experience

What's it going to be then, eh?

He is one of the better KRs.

Depends on what you want, be it returner or gunner/coverage player. Harris did them all which helped save a roster spot.

The better returner prospects:

WR Nelson Agholor
WR Kaelin Clay
RB Marcus Murphy
WR Tyler Lockett
WR J.J. Nelson
WR Mario Alford
RB Akeem Hunt

You can add in players like Jamison Crowder and Phillip Dorsett as well.

Kenny Bell of Nebraska, Malcome Kennedy of Texas A&M and Devin Smith of Ohio State are good gunner/coverage players.

I really like
Kenny Bell from Neb and Ty Montgomery are my favs at this point.
Marcus Murphy was off my radar thanks
Malcom Kennedy nice

I think Agholor, Dorsett, and Jamison Crowder will be too rich a draft rd for us.
JJ Nelson at 156lbs makes me pause.
Akeem Hunt I did not know thanks Alexander.

I am thinking of the 7 draft choices we have one will be to fill this position KR/PR.

If you miss on the top few, you can probably get Mario Alford in the late rounds. His return numbers would have been much better if he had better coverage teams (WVU Homer who is irate that we still have the ST coach on that team).

JaCorey Shepherd would be another candidate, and could actually be a contributor at CB as well.

Later rounds is the hard part.

He's my #1 Option. Drew Boylhardt (the huddle report) ranks Ty as a 1st Rd talent, and says he compares to Arizona's Fitzgerald in ability and work ethic.

Yes, he's pretty good.

I'd say the only issue with adding a RB for returns is that we'll probably already be adding a RB in the draft, so finding room for yet another RB (on top of what we have) could be tough.

I don't really think Ty Montgomery is a natural WR, but it's not like we were asking much from Harris at WR anyway.
He's a good return man and is tough, and I bet he could even be used on coverage teams too. .

I'd really like to see Wilcox give PR's a shot. Ge did it in college & did it well. Plus he's a tough dude unlike the guys ive seen us attempt to use when Harris is out.... Dunbar & Williams. Bease is a scrappy little dude but he looked poor when he had his shots too

Looked him up and is a great choice, thanks for the update and story on him, sounds blazing fast and quick.

Kenny Bell for me in a landslide, Stefon Diggs next closest.
I think they both offer potential at WR as well which for me is critical. Don't like the one dimensional types.

I'll add onto the Kenny Bell love. We might have to grab him in the 4th though.

If we want to draft a pure return specialist Kaelin Clay should be the guy. 23 punt returns last year with a 15 yard average and 3 TD's. Plus 21 kick returns for a 25 yard average and 1 TD.

A first round talent? At WR? Or RB?

He is a solid utility player that will be a weapon, but he is not good enough to be a full time WR. I see him as a third down back almost.
