Dexter thread

I think this is only the final season if Showtime doesn't give Michael C Hall more money like he wants. This season has been unbelievably bad. The writing seems to have fallen off a cliff. I mean Dexter was never the best written show around, but it feels like I'm watching a totally different show this season.

Hmm. This season hasn't been that great. Not sure I will press through another season if this one doesn't get better in a hurry.

I'm just not a big TV guy. The show has to be really good (to me) for me to set aside time to watch them.

The reason this season is not as good as the others is the smaller amount of naked women being shown. :p:

Anyone else think that Travis is the DDK? I think he may be schizophrenic and Gellar's role is just a figment of his imagination.

That would mean the real Gellar is dead. He would have to been killed and his body hidden too as his death would have been known to Miami Metro when they looked him up. (certificate of death)

Doesn't seem likely, but they could easily spin it that way.

That's because it is. From wiki:

The main creative forces behind the series were executive producers Daniel Cerone, Clyde Phillips and Melissa Rosenberg; Cerone left the show after its second season. Coming off a record-setting Season 4 finale, executive producer and showrunner Clyde Phillips departed the series to spend more time with his family. 24 co-executive producer Chip Johannessen took over Phillips' post. Head writer Melissa Rosenberg left after Season 4 as well.

After the conclusion of Season 5, it was revealed that Chip Johannessen was departing the show after a single season and that Scott Buck would be taking over as showrunner from season 6.

This has seemed obvious since like the third episode of the season. I'm 90% sure that is the case.

Hmm. I will probably just skip next season.

You win!

Awful season that really built up to nowhere, amazing cliffhanger though. I hope Dex and Deb **** and then kill some people. This show has jumped the great white.

Yeah, this season kinda blew up until the last couple of episodes.

I like where it ended up though. Lets see where they take it.

I love Dexter, but this was easily the worst season.

They should have let Edward James Olmos be the real killer and forget Colin Hanks all together...he was a waste.

Deb having feelings for Dexter...don't know if I care for that.

Good Cliffhanger...but I don't know where they're going to go from here with it.

Agree with just about everything here...

Easily the worst season although it was still interesting...

Olmos is a great actor, Colin Hanks is suited to do soaps at best... not believable or intimidating in the least... VERY poor choice by Showtime. I'm guessing Tom Hanks said he was a fan of the show and they decided to throw his son a bone...

Never have liked the Deb character. She was excellent in The Exorcism of Emily Rose, but not in this series. Never been enomored by characters that have to curse to get attention. I'm no prude, but her character has no substance.

I saw the incest angle coming a few episodes ago. Like you, I don't know how they will use it, but next season is the last season so I'm sure there will be all kinds of twists and turns...
