I have had two people at work tell me to watch Dexter. What is Dexter?

It's a series on Showtime about a serial killer that you hate to love and root for. Very underrated show that has somehow flown under the radar.

Watch it!

Not just a serial killer....he works for the police dept. His victims are people who have gotten away with crimes.

New season starts Sunday night.

I liked Season 1 and 2 the best so far but season 3 was good as well.

The new season starts this Sunday and it should be pretty good as John Lithgow is playing the bad guy this season and agent Lundy is back.

It will be interesting to see how the sister will handle that. :laugh2:

Dexter is one of the best if not the best show on TV.

John Lithgow joins Season 4 of Dexter as ‘The Trinity Killer’

Looks like Dexter Morgan won’t be alone with his “dark passenger” in Season 4. Dexter fans who mourned the passing of DA Miguel Prado (Jimmy Smits) last season will rejoice at the news that Showtime has cast another actor with a terrific pedigree to pair with Michael C. Hall next season.

EW’s Michael Ausiello reports that John Lithgow will play Walter Simmons, “an unassuming suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America’s most prolific and deadliest serial killers.” Police call him the Trinity Killer because his victims come in threes. When Simmons moves to Miami, Dexter is drawn to him because of his efficient killing methods and his ability to kill without getting caught for nearly 30 years.

Lithgow has been better known for comedy in recent years (see 3rd Rock from the Sun, Harry and the Hendersons, etc.) but he also has played his share of disturbed characters in thrillers such as Cliffhanger, Hollow Point and Blow Out.

Ausiello also drops another casting tidbit: Keith Carradine will return for Season 4 as Deb’s ex-boyfriend, F.B.I. Special Agent Frank Lundy, for several episodes.

Dexter returns for Season 4 on Sept. 27.

You can buy the seasons on Amazon or even at Target from time to time for like $17.99 each.

It's worth it. I love this show. Other than Lost, it's my favorite series at the moment. Lithgow makes a good bad guy, and I know he won't disappoint in Dexter.

Yep, I was going to start a thread about Dexter.

I watched Season 1 and half of Season 2 last year and it was one of the best series I have seen.

Yesterday, I finally finished the other half of Season 2 and Season 3.

I just got the 1st season and like 4 episodes in. Pretty good show so far. Alot darker than I thought it'd be. I guess I didnt realize it was on showtime.

Dexter is a monster! So to speak.

I remember hearing about the premise of the show before it aired, and I thought 'That's just stoopid!'. A friend showed me the first four episodes, and I was hooked. Really well done, and Michael Hall does a great job with the character. Good ensemble cast. The writing is really top notch.

I liked the first season best, then the third, then the second, but they are all well worth watching. It was a tough premise to make a sympathetic character with, but boy did they do it.

I have just finished reading the first novel that it was based on, and it suffers in comparison to the show. However, some of the really zingy one liners from Dex in the first season were lifted directly from the book.

Not disappointed by the first episode of this season, that's for sure.

Love the show and the writing is great except for Deb, the sister. Her lines are nothing but a constant flow of f bombs. They can do better.

Very good first episode. I can't wait for next week.

Good first episode although we could do with a little less of the Lithgow moon shoots in the future episodes.:laugh2:
