You have to consider the supporting cast in Mike's first 3 seasons. When you do, those numbers are pretty impressive.

Oh, and Drew Pearson is still the true #88. :starspin

Dez is doing this in the passing era. No comparison imo. Compare Dez to his counterparts not Michael Irvin.

Victor Cruz

19 games 82 receptions 1,536 yards 9 TD

Mike Williams

32 games 130 receptions 1,735 yards 14 TD

Hakeem Nicks (first 2 seasons)

27 games 126 reception 1842 yards 17 TD

Jeremy Maclin (first 2 seasons)

31 games 126 reception 1737 yards 14 TD

Mike Wallace (first 2 seasons)

32 games 99 receptions 2013 yards 16 TD

Different era, different offenses.

Oh Crap....we going to have an off season of HATE ON [insert player] threads.
This year it's DEZ, for no apparent reason.

Of course we'll get the usaul Marty B hate threads until he leaves as a FA. Then all the haters will come out and have 15,000 "it's about time" threads.

It takes a WR a good 2 to 3 years to really get going. Very few come in and make an impact right away.

And since this IS a passing league now, more complwex schemes maybe? So it will take a while longer.
Blame the colleges for not preparing them for a PASSING league. Of course not serious on that, but that can be used if you want to dump on a player without cause.

I didn't choose the topic, the OP did. That was mistake #1. Not having his facts straight (remember, Dez is a let down) ahead of time was #2. If he fails to return to the thread or ever reply we'll know it was a troll topic only, not something he truly believed in, and that would be #3.

:lmao2: Exactly!

If you want to dump on somebody, trying doing it to someone who doesnt show passion for the game, and doesnt produce. I nominate Spencer

That isn't the thread topic. It is a good topic though if you want to create a new thread for it.

Oh, and :welcome:

Let's see. Dez didn't play his senior year of college football, and then gets hurt in training camp and only gets 4 games with Romo before he fractures his collarbone.

Then, after showing much promise, he fractures his ankle against Indy and then the LOCKOUT happens. Give the kid a break.

Hey OP, instead of throwing a post on the forum merely just to see your name in lights, why don't you find one of the 10 other threads on the subject right there on the main page and post in there?

I'll drink to that.

OP do your research first. Stop being ignorant

I am disappointed in myself in that I thought Dez Bryant would be a Calvin Johnson type of player this year. Obviously was wrong.

I think Dez can become a good to very good WR in the NFL. Having said that, I've lowered my expectations of him being a Megatron type talent.

Dez is a fantastic athlete -- but Calvin Johnson is quite possibly (quite probably) the best pure athlete that has ever played the WR position.

i do not think that dez bryant has been a letdown right now. he needs to focus better in getting better at being a go to receiver the whole game and not just the first half.
