I believe there is a huge gap between excited to get a contract which will set him for life if he is careful and being stressed out.

When it happens, it happens. Other than being happy for Bryant for getting his just rewards, I do not get why this would be exciting.

It is not like this is some big save from free agency. He was never going to leave, whether it happened now or later.

I believe a lot of us will always have some concern in the back of our minds regarding Dez's back and its long term health.

If the team was truly concerned, I think they'd use the Franchise tag to protect themselves.

What in the past two off seasons have made you think Jerry is giving him 18M?

And if anything close to that has ever been offered this deal would have been signed weeks ago.

Jerry realizes without Dez in the fold he would sell about 16 jerseys a year. Fact of the matter is he is truly our only marketable commodity. The back scares me but the work he's put in on and off the field make him more than deserving of an extension. The push of the Cowboys legends jerseys on the website indicate that outside of Dez not many players on the current roster excite the fan base. I just hope it is not as crippling capewise as Romo's should his back not hold up

I'm hoping it's a Tyron style contract. Extend him for his entire prime - 10 years or so, with a moderate salary each year that doesn't ebb and flow at all. Predictable returns for a predictable payout over a long time.

Recent SB winners have relied on their teams and have not had top 5 receivers
If we had a GM worth a darn I would trade him for 2 1st round picks (but our collective GM would only waste them)

In Miami Saturday night there were at least 10 Witten jerseys for every Dez , or any other Cowboy for that matter.
