Dez, first of all your college coach isn't a head coach in the NFL. If he was he'd probably give you a spot on the team.
Second, you played long enough to get your NFL pension. Apparently Tebow has not.
Third, you were a huge distraction to the team. You yelled at your coaches and created a scene on the sideline. Tebow did not.
Fourth, you had a severe injury. Tebow never did.

Now it's not to say any of the above things are reason to keep you out of the NFL. But please, you and Tebow are two entirely different types of players. Can't compare yourself or your situation to Tebow.

Besides, like the saying goes, if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything. Just makes you look petty....

It got Tebow a ESPN job for accomplishing absolutely nothing on the field....
Tim comments on college football. He's considered one of the greatest college football players in the history of the sport who also played for the most popular conference in college - the SEC. And he has a HUGE following - all of which makes it understandable and sensible that he is an ESPN commentator.

This controversy is about ONE man/coach, Urban Meyer, and ONE player, Tim Tebow.

This is a unique situation.

No other owner or coach has extended such a benefit or privilege to Tebow let alone any other player.

This is NOT the Colin Kaepernick situation, who was basically blackballed from the league as NO TEAM would sign him.

I am VERY sensitive to the particulars of Kaepernick's situation because it addresses issues we cannot discuss on this forum.

But the Tebow situation is NOT the Kaepernick situation. Now when coaches en masse start giving opportunities to players of a certain background out of the league for years to play a different position and ensure them a roster spot, then we can talk about systemic privilege.

But this is not that issue and is not equivalent to the Kaepernick situation.

Great point, no argument there...

Tebow is a peace keeper.

Kap encouraged deadly action against Police.

Not a mystery why one got a job offer and the other didn't.

Tebow is a good guy. Kaep is a brave man who brought awareness to the unnecessary profiling, murder and police brutality of minorities in this country. Despite being better than a few starters and ALL the back-up QBs in the NFL, Kaep was refused employment because some people in high places didn't like a light shined on their hypocrisy and dont want equal treatment for all.

It definitely isn't a mystery why one got a job and the other didn't. Definitely nothing new to see here.

Correct me if I am wrong , but Tebow does not stay in the news begging for another shot to make a team like Dez is doing and TO did in the past. I agree that players should all be judged the same, but that only applies when they are doing similar things. Tebow is not the kind of guy that torches teams for not giving him an opportunity to make the roster. Dez to a degree , and TO has buried teams for not giving them a tryout. Neither of them realizes that their mouth has been a big hindrance for them to get tryouts with teams.

You can make the argument for Dez and TO being loud-mouths but the facts are Dez and TO are light years better than Tebow ever was at the position he is trying out for, considering catching the ball is what they do. And if you bypass Dez and TO, there are countless other players that are far better than Tebow and they actually do play TE. This argument isn't just about Dez, but countless other players are expressing the same grievance.

No he wasn't. He was offered jobs and turned them down. Get your facts straight.

BS. Kaep insisted on starter money when he was not a starter and turned down at least 2 offers. He ruined his own NFL career w/ attitude and overvaluing his own value.

My facts are straight. But of course I expect you to view it lightly. Its expected.
View it lightly? What sort of trash is that? What are you talking about?

It's fact that he was offered contracts. But, I expect you to deny it. It's expected.
