Dez falls on the sword for bad coach, GM, teammates play

Dez did not fall on the sword for anyone but himself....had he been getting 1300 yards and 15 tds per year the last 3 years we arent having this conversation.

Its on him and his production...he missed tons of balls and his poor route running limited his ability outside of jump balls/contested balls....wish him the best but this was a breakup needed....going to hurt short term, might even mean we are not a playoff team in 2018...but will help long term.
im tired of arguing but 2015 No romo and dez got hurt,..unavoidable having an off year, 2016 he projected out to 1k and 10tds had he not missed 3 games and his playoff game against GB was great..Last year MY POINT JUST WAS BAD FOR ENTIRE OFFENSE FROM CH=OACHES DOWN.. he has not had 3 down years, IMO just 2017..all this BS is over played and just ridiculous..lots of players who got paid big money on their payday contract end up slowing down or getting hurt and can all be said to be overpaid..

het was NOT as bad as this site is making him out to be 2016 wasn't bad at all for losing romo and being with a new rookie at qb and a running scheme with Zeke... sure he dropped passe s had an off year but jeez he is one of the top Cowboys of all time..how can he not

redundant
He still finished ALL time with the cowboys #1 in TDs, #3 in Yards, and #5 in receptions.. all time bro for this franchise thats huge..it didnt just have a few good years he had 3 GREAT years in which he had 1200plus yards and 10+ Tds and that put him tie in nfl with fine company with the likes of OBJ, Antonio Brown, AJ Green, Brandon Marshall, and Dthomas.. thats not chump number, thats it so in his error hes done well right up against the best, you notice Julio jones hadn't made that list yet..

the lack of respect is whats bothering me.... dude deserves his props X

Yes i said it coaches who didnt have an answer for Smith going down and Dak regressing with Zeke gone..add in Lee going out hitchens, baily Irving and others with no adjustments being made by either side of the ball singles out Dez simply because of his contract size..

Sad day for True loyal Cowboy fans.. Im sad to see him go..

Who's left to blame for Jason Garrett's failure?

Jason Witten the next sacrificial lamb who suddenly can't play anymore?

There's a common thread here.

The last big name guy that left got a Super Bowl ring out of the deal.

I know this is about a dumb a question as it gets, but are any of you just about fed the **** up with this coaching clown car we as fans are watching season after season after season after season... like all those clowns getting out of that little car...I friggin cannot take clapper and vanilla queen another season. They can Dez, like this past season was ALL on him????? WHAT about all the rest of the 53 players on this roster? What amount of blame falls on THEIR lack of play? This just STINKS to hell of JJ covering for his is clapping carrot.... you mark my words, Dez will play, this season, clapping carrot and vanilla queen had BEST pray he stays out of the East...

Dez is a cancer. He dictated the play calling when he did not get this share of catches. That also forced the QB to throw his way and then he drops the ball.
He can't control his temper and that affected the team. His drops are more and more at the crucial time. I don't see he is worth that kind of money. Open your eyes, fans, he is not worth it.

I like Dez and would have liked to see if he can improve. But....Dez did this to himself. A player that knows he's not a good route runner and DCs figuring how to cover him was his own fault. You don't wait until year 8 or 9 to decide to get someone to teach you how to run the route tree. You do that in year 1 and/or 2. Many drops last year. It's like he lost focus. Then, the tantrums on the sideline is not good for any organization. Especially and organization that is considered a young team. He was no longer worth the pay he was receiving. You can put some of the blame on scheme and adjustments but you have to be fundamentally sound (running every route on route tree) to be able to be part of an adjustment.

Thanks Dez. Hopefully your career doesn't go downhill any further and you have much success....except when you play the Cowboys.

the Dez issue and his production have been there for several years. he is declining. he got more exposed when Romo retired. Romo saved Dez's arse a lot. plus he wasn't worth the 13 mill. he was declining. he was a distraction. I think this was a good move.

I give Dez a lot of respect but he has declined over the last 3 years substanitally and was not worth what he was paid. The fact that he had great stats before that with the cowboys is great, but he is 3 years removed from that. He has my respect as a cowboy and I am glad we had him but he also has gotten to the point where his antics were not covered by his production and it was time for a change.

I have a dez jersey that I will not ever wear again while he is in the NFL (not becuase i dont like him but because i dont wear players jerseys that are not on the cowboys) and i am glad he is gone...but that doesn't mean that i dont respect him.

You know, I agree with most on here stating what is obvious to any who have watched this team. Dez was NOT the same WR he used to be. Was it his big pay day? Maybe. I keep looking back at the GB playoff game "catch, no catch" in my mind THAT was when Dez really begin to slide off the tracks. Good move, bad move, only time will tell but it's a done deal now and we as fans can throw up the white flag an walk away or nut up and hope this improves this team enough to get us back into a conference championship... guess we will have to wait and see.

oh man this board would start back with the "oh man you think we can get him back for a 4th!!". i said it in another thread im having serious D Ware deja vu here today.
Except Ware left showing class and made sure he went to the AFC.

ive said it since the other 101 posts abut dez started after the saeons and will continue to say it..Dez was NOT the reason we failed last year..it was what i listed above and if they blame him they need to go release Dak, Bease, witten, green, Switzer,Twill, Linehan, and Garett..They ALL had down years and were AS much tpo b;lame as Dez..Dez got released because of money..period but all the others had bad down years, period.. So he was the scape goat who was released for production vs pay and IMO i wish he was still here..I hope he goes somewhere and has success..

Jerry cant be released but he gets honorable mention
You're wrong.

Dez was as much of the problem as anyone.

Yeah, it was the coaches fault Dez dropped balls, never ran good routes and had a loud mouth.

If you have ever coached, you would know that, that is a truer statement that was intended.

I never coached but I did use to lead men into battle and I never allowed one to tag along that was going to get the rest of us killed.

You would talk him up, or would you cut him?

You should be banned or forced to identify yourself as a non-Cowboys fan.
Never said I wanted him to win. As someone who’s worked with college players I’ve often rooted for them to do well against Dallas and have Dallas win in end.
