Dez Fractured Right Ankle

Believe me ...

For all of you that have had an high anke sprain (like me) ... I wish I broke my ankle.

Any doctor will tell you ... Breaking your ankle is far better then a high ankle sprain.

They schedule surgery for patients with insurance the next or same day too. Anyone know if it is the tibia or fibula that was fractured? Some of these surgeries require pinning or a metal plate with screws.

Sort makes you fell a bit better that he's in good spirits despite the setback...

Saw the play and...OUCH! So sorry he had to have that happen to him...get well, DEZ.

:bang2: Should never have been returning kickoffs for this team that isn't even in the playoff race. Kick returns are more about blocking than a great individual returner. Even if Dez pushed the coaches to put him on returns, you can't put your best WR in jeopardy like that

Reality is this is football, very violent and the injury could have occurred as well if he was in the play as a wide receiver!

You mean this year or next? If next, he'd have to agree to a sizable pay cut first.

No, actually that depends on how well Dez comes back and how much he's progressed. If he's ready, then it may be a contract issue. If he's not, then Roy has leverage and probably not.

Well, it is very unfortunate for Dez but if there's a bit of an upside here, I'll just remind that Michael Irvin broke his leg his Rookie year and came back to be a pretty darn good player. Lets hope Dez follows suit.

Never good to see a player break anything...I hope Dez makes a full recovery and comes back strong.

You can tell Dez is feeing those pain killers.

Gotta love his attitude, every 5 years or so a player comes along that is head above heels more physically superior to his competition. This draft had two of those guys, Sugh and Bryant. We're lucky to have gotten our guy at the end of the first round. One of the only good bounces we've had all year.

This was a big downer.

Bryant is high on my list of players who I really like. The guy is going to be a superior player at WR. I was worried about him getting hurt on kickoffs, especially after that head on collision that he had on Thanksgiving, on a kickoff.

There is a reason Felix Jones doesn't do it, anymore.

Some will say that he was no good at it, but many of the 2009 kickoff team has been replaced.

You likely will never see Bryant return another kickoff in the NFL.

If there's a lock-out, next season, Dez will have a lot of time to heal.

The NFL isn't dumb enough to allow a lockout to take place... It's the number 1 sport in America. Dez will need a good 6 to 8 months to get healed up.

Bryant was basically the number 2 WR, already. He was drawing double teams, and teams feared him. Teams talked about fearing him this season. Next season, Bryant will match his numbers (+ the missed games numbers) and eat up a significant amount of Roy Williams' numbers. Dallas will consider this when they factor in paying Williams big money, for being a role player.

I guarantee you, you will never see Bryant return another kickoff in his career. It's simply too dangerous for blue-chip players like Bryant.

People will talk about "injury prone". Football is a rough sport, and both his major ankle injuries could have been avoided. Kickoffs are dangerous. There is a reason why you have designated special teams guys doing it.

exactly never should have been out there

When they re-showed the play, it looked BRUTAL. Your leg is NOT designed to move like that. I knew immediately his season had to be over
