Dez has nothing on Beckham

I agree. Dez is definitely a drama queen. But I don't think he negatively impacts the locker room the way ODB does.

My personal preference would be to have a productive player without the histrionics (sp.).

I agree, RXP. Julio, Brown, Green are the preeminent WR in the league, no doubt.

Dig in for what? Did you think I meant that Bechham is better than Dez?

Just thought this was another Dez bash. I think that same knee-jerk thought was implied by several others here, as well.

No offense, bud, and I moved on to other posts in this thread.

Nice OP, Roy. Good discussion going, that is a bit different than the tired Dez threads we've been getting for the past few weeks.

Thanks.

FYI I would take Odell over Dez as a WR 10 out of 10 times. Although his latest craziness has given me pause.

Before this season began, I would have, too, Roy.

Now not anymore. ODB before head case, top 3-4 WR, after showing that last season was just the beginning of his antics, and now that it's snowballed into a consistent spectacle that is all over the news and invading their locker room, and after what just happened with us and Hardy, not a chance in h-e-double-hockey sticks.

Beckham has talent but quite honestly I'm not sure he is worth the trouble he brings with him. Dez is problematic in his own right, but at least by appearances, I would far rather deal with Dez and his issues than Beckham, and I'm sick to death of Dez' immaturity, so that's saying something. Dez seems to pale in comparison the the train wreck Beckham appears to be.

He also trumps Dez in talent.

I don't think Dez is top 10 at this point. At some point you could have at least argued the merits of that issue, but from my point of view, he clearly is not at this point. I have been saying for a long time now that on one hand you can argue Dez is top 5 but there is a very good case that he isn't even a top 10 receiver. Right now it might even be pushing it to say he is in the top 20.

No one in here is saying ODB or Julio is a not a better receiver than Dez.

Respectfully, Tyke, my brudda.

They said it back when Dez was healthy and catching touchdowns like they were falling out of heaven.

I don't think anyone would dispute it now. Dez hasn't been very healthy of late, unfortunately. :(

Romo made Dez appear to be a bit more elite than he actually is for a variety of reasons.

That wasn't the point of this OP. But since you went there -- imo, OBJ is on his way to becoming the next TOwens.

So have fun with that. And when he loses his speed, he will lose his effectiveness. Dez's game is predicated on physicality and that declines at a much slower rate (as long as he keeps hitting the gym, and he's a workout warrior, so that's unlikely) than speed. OBJ is small and will never have a physical game. You see him get punked last year by Norman? Think that happens to Dez? Lol. I'll answer for you -- no, it doesn't. No speed, no Beckham.

And have fun with OBJ and his club-dividing antics. McAdoo is having to spend most of his press conference calls answering questions on the dude's antics.

As @PA Cowboy Fan said, now he's proposing to a kicking net.

Next, he'll be pulling sharpies out of his sock and signing balls after a touchdown.
Listen, I'm a huge Bryant fan just look at my damn sig. But out of those two, Dez got punked more than ODB. I'm not talking physically, I'm talking on the field. Odell actually had a pretty good game against Norman. Some players just don't mesh with teams they are on.

If Beckham becomes a free agent I would love to see the Cowboys pursue him. That is my opinion and I'm not asking anybody to agree with it and I just simply don't care about who disagrees with it. Nobody's going to change that!
