Dez has nothing on Beckham

ODB wishes he took games over as consistently as TO in his prime. Agreed, my brother.
Too me, players like TO, ODB become team killers in the long run. QB 's don't want them...HC don't want them and frankly winning clubs don't need them. WR are at the very end of the list for what a winning team really needs. If they become distractions like ODB and TO before then most clubs are better off without them. Give me a WR that just catches the ball and l am content there is no need for all the self serving drama.

I remember when we were debating whether Julio Jones and Odell Beckham Jr. were better than Dez, and some Cowboys homer, I mean, posters laughed at you if you suggested they were. :)

Agreed my brother.

And as @lqmac1 said, yes, ODB probably fits this quick read scheme better than Dez does. Unless Romo is in.

Romo isn't coming back in at this point, so your point stands. But I digress.

But a scheme fit doesn't a team fit, make. ODB would be an even more everyday story here, and Jerry would enable the **** out of it. No thanks.

No one in here is saying ODB or Julio is a not a better receiver than Dez.

Respectfully, Tyke, my brudda.

Tell you what. ODB is a more complete receiver but l would hate to see this idiot in Dallas. It would just make the QB and Coaches jobs too hard and this team is plenty good enough offensively not to need any prima donna sizzle players. Just compare the present records. NY isn't winning with ODB...just like TO never won anything either. Other teams can have the ODB types.

I have certainly been critical of Dez on here, but Beckham has him trumped big time. Two different kinds of immaturity, but Beckham is just plain loco. As in psycho and unstable. Cant believe what he did at the end of the game on Sunday.

I love it.

They are going through a stage I've watched this team go through in the past.

Is it that big of a deal? No.. But it's a distraction and the media will rip them constantly for it.

This type of stuff is not what championship teams are made of.

And I'd take Von Miller over Jack Crawford. We can play this game ad infinitum.

We have a number 1. And ODB is a basket case who has no in-game cool. He's being coddled, but as NY keeps losing, and ODB's theatrics are a bigger story than the team, and McAdoo has to keep answering questions about one guy instead of the team, he will be labeled a cancer, eventually. It's already starting to happen in NY.

Unless he cleans his act up and grows up. Think that happens?
Dez Bryant, at least around here, is always compared to the top receivers in the league. Some think he's top 5. Others think he's top 10. I don't recall anybody saying Jack Crawford is a top 10 player at his position.

If Jack Crawford=Dez while Julio Jones=Von Miller, that's a slap in the face to Dez. I used Jones and Green because that's who Dez should be compared to. Not just on the field, but contract-wise too. They are paid similarly. I believe Jack Crawford makes a tiny bit less than Von Miller.

Regardless, my earlier post is still valid. Your Crawford/Miller comparison is not.

@CATCH17 Be the object of fan consternation and ridicule, stemming from some media hype (as you said) and a small contract holdout (hello Von Miller, Cam Chancellor).

Injuries the last two years. A desire to win and energy on the sidelines that doesn't match the status quo of the "get off muh lawn" fanbase. Injuries make him a bad person and clubhouse cancer to some of these folk.

In the last 3-4 years, that's about it.

It's sad, Catch.

Fair enough, RXP. Point made, brother

@RXP I agree with your first post in this thread, I am just a denfeder of Dez and used a woefully wrong comparison. Lol, you schooled me and I'm not above admitting when I'm wrong. I'm not one of those guys :)

ETA -- I think Dez as a drama queen fits -- a lot of big name NFL players are -- but as a club house cancer, it's over-stated and a fan meme. Drama queen =/= cancer, ala ODB, Burfict, TO etc.

That wasn't the point of this OP. But since you went there -- imo, OBJ is on his way to becoming the next TOwens.

So have fun with that. And when he loses his speed, he will lose his effectiveness. Dez's game is predicated on physicality and that declines at a much slower rate (as long as he keeps hitting the gym, and he's a workout warrior, so that's unlikely) than speed. OBJ is small and will never have a physical game. You see him get punked last year by Norman? Think that happens to Dez? Lol. I'll answer for you -- no, it doesn't. No speed, no Beckham.
Great comparison that I had not thought of. I can absolutely see a lot of TO in Beckham.

I agree. Dez is definitely a drama queen. But I don't think he negatively impacts the locker room the way ODB does.

My personal preference would be to have a productive player without the histrionics (sp.).
