I wish we had already extended Butler to a very team friendly deal to keep him in place as the #3 receiver on the team next year. I am hoping the the body catcher fraudulently has outrageously good stats during Dez' absence making him erroneously making him look like a #1 receiver, which we already know he isn't. Then let him walk in free agency and have some team WAY over pay for the body catcher! It would help our compensatory pick value calculation enormously!

Butler had a chance to perform last year and had 258 yards.

This is his 4th year in the league, he will be 27 years old by the end of the season, and he has averaged 216 yards receiving his first 3 seasons.

It's very possible he'll be nothing more than a 'runs like Tarzan, plays like Jane' type of player with great measurables but very little production.

If its going to happen for Bryce Butler, this is the year for it. I am pulling for him but am doubtful...

Butler needs to do something.

I think if anything, we'll involve Zeke and Dunbar more in the passing game.

I loved Butler for a while, but he just doesn't produce the way he should.

Fast doesn't equal good.

Butler seems like another Alexander Wright.

Well then, just go WR in the 1st round then, defense in the 2nd, hopefully on a player than will play in 2017, and not a red shirt injury guy.

If Dez is out for any appreciable amount of time, Beasley is going to end up with 120 receptions this season, lol. We'll be turning into NE's offense, just moving the chains with white lightning in the slot.

i listened to a 20 minute interview of him from training camp, Butler has a lot going on off the field with fashion and music. I don't get the sense that football is a burning passion for him.

I don't think it's a big issue.

Mickey Spags was just on the radio saying he was acting like his normal self yesterday and had no limp or anything.

Maybe.

Last year Beasley was doing great and then Dez went out and Beasley went back to average.

Beasley covered by CB1 or CB2 is a much different story than we see today with Beasley covered by CB3 or a safety.

I can't see anybody giving TWilliams #1 receiver money, no matter how well he does. He's a so-so #2.
As for Butler, it would have to be an awfully team friendly deal, I don't see him as anything other than a #3.
We do need to find a #2 for next year but I don't know that I would use our first rounder on it. Our defensive needs are too great. That might be accomplished through FA or a later round pick.

What is the official word on dez and his injury. I've heard 4-6 was and I've heard day to day and may play Sunday. Does anyone know?

Nobody will give him number 1 money, but look at the contract Tavon Austin received (admittedly, he's a bit more dynamic than TWill, but his stats are not #1 level). 4yr 42mil, 30 guaranteed.

If TWill puts up around 850 and 7-9 TDs this year, he'll get something close to that.

Don't disagree, but if Dez is out, I'm interested in seeing what he can do with some touches(reps).

Hard to produce when you play 10 snaps a game and your the 5th option.

He was solid in preseason, and showed some life at the end of last season.

Yep.

Could be worst.

Don't know if Beaz can take the hits though.

We'll see.
