Prescott throws outside the numbers 78% of the time. In his last two seasons, Romo did it 73% of the time. Romo in his prime was deadly between the numbers.

Prescott's 745 aimed attempts (2016-17)
L 182 of 265 (69%) 2043 yds (7.7 ypa) 14 td 3 int 104.3
M 107 of 162 (66%) 1297 yds (8.0 ypa) 8 td 3 int 99.2
R 209 of 318 (66%) 2429 yds (7.6 ypa) 20 td 3 int 105.7

Romo's 1,007 aimed attempts (2013-14)
L 250 of 374 (67%) 2801 yds (7.5 ypa) 17 td 4 int 99.7
M 184 of 270 (68%) 2470 yds (9.1 ypa) 26 td 3 int 124.5
R 245 of 363 (68%) 2735 yds (7.5 ypa) 25 td 9 int 102.3

Romo at 33-35 vs Dak @ 24 years old and the gap is not large at all in fact quite close considering Romo in his prime threw twice more picks.

How was Romo at 24? Oh yeah, glued to the bench.

That's because you cheerleaders pass it off as "schtick".

Schtick this. Dak Prescott is not nor will he ever be a franchise QB and I hate every single second I see him under center for the Dallas Cowboys.

I don't know how I can say it more clearly.

Not because he's the worst player in the world but because he's not elite and this is the future at QB of the Dallas Cowboys we're talking about here. I want the QB to be the make up to cover the blemishes of the team not the team having to cover up the acne of the QB.

Go to bed.

Goff and Wentz went 1 and 2 respectively. Right where they should have according to the pundits. Should we have made a play for Wentz at 2? Maybe. Maybe not. We just don’t know at this point. It’s all water under the bridge now.

IMO this franchise put all their eggs in one basket with the oline and it was based on the premise to protect Romo better and get back to power running. So we pass on the opportunity to move up in the selection process and go with Elliot. The FO said many times over that Romo had 5 years left so drafting a QB was always going to be a later round selection. They followed the script exactly as planned. Dak was really an afterthought for them but there he was still available in the 4th.

In conclusion, we got a guy in the 4th round who could have gone in the 1st. Will he be a game changer by himself someday? We’ll find out eventually. Right now he has the benefit of a perfect QB friendly system in place. But gosh darn it, he has proven so far to be a gamer. He will never be the perfect pocket QB. He needs a solid supporting cast. Let’s just see what he can do. The last half of this season will give us a good idea what we have in him.
