At least IMO anyway. Dez is a pretty solid dude in my book. I think he plays the game as hard as it can be played and to the utmost of his ability. Truth is I just never thought he was all the smart , was never going to be a guy that could run a full route tree because he simply didnt have the intelligence to do so.

Having said that,....... he was still an outstanding W.R in his day and one that gave all he had. Gotta respect that. Im o.k with Dez being cut. I am missing the Julio Jones connection.
I've read people say Julio Jones is not at all intelligent. (I dont believe it because I dont know him either). Dez scored higher on the Wonderlic than Julio btw.
In what area are we comparing Julio to Dez? I am failing to see the connection.
Which big mistakes are we talking about.

The connection i was making is that they either came out the same year or one after the other. Julio's route tree and ability to move developed very quickly in comparison to dez, who had trouble reading defenses and developing at just one position.

I watched them both over their careers, and made that connection. Because there was obvious differences in their development.

Dez came through a lot of crap in his lifetime. Dead beat dad. Crack ho mom. have to admire him for staying clean. Dez will survive. He made a crap load of money playing in Dallas. Tony survived. D Ware survived. Emmitt survived. Troy survived. Dorsett survived.

Dez is a good soul. Jerry protected him the right way and I like that Dez showed loved to Jerry after the fact. Dez doesn’t owe Garrett or Linehan anything but owes Jerry the love.

Ok I’ll share some experiences I had with him. Saw him at my boys club so we we had a shot and took some pics together. He said Lox let’s stand over here so the old man ( jerrry) doesn’t see all the partying in the background.

After taking some shots he asked me why I was dogging him on the zone - which makes me believe that he or his enterouge read our junk . Promised him that I’d stop, which I did and try to say nice things. He said you ain’t got me on fantasy, i said would you? Comeon man. He said that’s fair. The we talked about gambling and he was annoyed he lost 20k at blackjack. I told him I gotta stay away from gambling cause I got a weakness for it. Then he showed me his Bentley SUV, I didn’t know they made those things cause I’m a common man.

For real though, he does love the Cowboys.
