The Dallas Morning News reports Dez Bryant is likely to resume returning punts for the Cowboys.
Current return man Akwasi Owusu-Ansah is expected to be waived Wednesday, necessitating Bryant's return to a role owner Jerry Jones is on the record as not wanting him to fill. Bryant got off to a slow start this season after injuring his quad on a Week 1 return, and broke his leg returning a kick last season. The move won't affect his fantasy value barring injury.

Miles reinjures his hammy-dez breaks a leg on a punt return and the Fire Garrett billboards surround DFW

Wonder if this decision has something to do with Miles coming back soon?

Only took em about 13 weeks but they did the right thing.

:laugh2:

Seriously why is this just now happening? The kid is as dangerous a returner as there is. Yes that includes Devin Hester and the kid we're about to face Patrick Peterson. Dez took two punts back for touchdowns last year. He's just so explosive as a returner and obviously as a wide out.

Haha! I got a good laugh on that. And I agree

Put the players on the field that cause the best results. Pretty simple idea.

Probably took watching all that Peterson tape to make it clear that beig a 1st rounder doesn't mean you can't play special teams.

Watch Ogletree get punt returns...

I have no problem with putting 'tree out there to fair catch, much like we used to do with the Crayton/Newman rotation

This exactly...

We hold so much back it's not even funny.

Funny. I'd think this has to do with Dez being the teams' best punt returner and this being a way to keep his head in the game

It's about time they let the best man for the job do his job.

I always thought it was strange that we draft all the players that specialized in returns in college, only to not use them in the pros (Dez, Felix, Jenkins, Newman).

With Miles about to return soon and Robinson showing that he and Tony have plenty of playmaking ability together I can see exactly why they are going to make this move. It gives them some more chances to get the ball in the hands of Dez. I like the move.

It will scare me every time, of course, but it's worth the risk, IMO.

Ok with this 'best man' philosophy.
Should we put Miles in as KR?
