Dez "it was a catch"

Sad part is, this is unfortunately the play that's he is most known for I'm afraid.

Non-Cowboys fans fail to realize what a force he was in this league in his prime, and that's a shame.
lol no they don’t. I lived in Baltimore and the ravens fans cursed out franchise every chance they get because Dez was right there but Dallas drafted him a spot before. Ravens were so disappointed they ended up traded out the 25th pick.

I rmemeber the next day everybody kept telling me that’s why we closed out Texas stadium , ya sorry bast@rd

Dez has become more well known for a catch that didn’t count. That was the signature play of his career.

That was the signature play of an era of Cowboys football. It's a typical example of this team. We havent been good enough in a long time.

Common sense says it was a catch. The rules (at the time) say different.

Instead of just securing the catch, Dez made the extra effort for the TD, and it cost him. It cost all of us.

But I will NEVER fault Dez for what he tried to do.

In the playoffs, you don't play it safe. You make plays.

Get ready for more, playboi. January marks the 10th anniversary. There's no whining like 10-year whining. Lol.
yeah I know that the officials looking bad and crooked really pains you but get over it.

Absolutely a catch and everybody knew it. That was the day the Packer's refs decided their team needed a win more than they needed their integrity.

Nope. It was a catch under the rules of the time. The rules were changed to try and cover up Dallas being screwed. Plus, I provided the Cobb "catch" that clearly hit the ground, but the same crew ruled that a catch even with a review, This game was not officiated fairly.

Who cares about a catch when we can't even run the football, or even block to get a pass off! The OP doesn't even watch the games

Im so tired of hearing about this play.

Lucky for both of you that you have the option to stay out of the thread. You see, when there is a topic I am "sick of hearing about" I will simply ignore it, and move on. That is what is known as a "rational decision". Try it sometime. You won't come across as some kind of moron who's actions betray the lie he wants everyone to believe.

Dez was a dominant force in his prime, even if it only lasted for 3 or 4 years.

He was one of the last of the true alpha go up and get it receivers in the style of the 2000s greats.

He wouldn’t run past you, he wasn’t all that quick, but he would catch that thing right on your head or run you right over on the way to the end zone.

Going from Romo to Dak was the end of him.
Dez wasn't a separation guy. Needed a QB who could let him go up and get it. But Dez just wasn't the same for the Dak years either. He broke in 2015 and was never the same again. Romo too, for that matter, although we'll never know if Romo was too broken to play football after 2015.

Sorry man. It was not a catch by the rules because he didn't maintain possession going to the ground. The same such call went against Dez @ NYG the year before (see 31:21 mark). So no, it's not something that was just made up.

The Cobb catch was probably called wrong, but it wasn't the same situation.

and then the NFL admitted the rule was wrong and changed it
Blindly following the rules is like blindly following orders
neither ends well

He made a football move. It was a catch. It was ruled a catch and the New York office called to overrule it. Has that ever happened before or again or did they always let the ruling stand? That should tell you something.

When extreme hope overrides reality. They changed the rule years later. Is that not enough for people? Lol.
Sorry, I knew you would be here. two feet, Football move ( switched the ball from a two hand catch) to one hand and dove for the endzone. It met the rules for a catch - surviving the ground is the only issue up for debate and technically him just falling, he would have survived the ground, but the football move (dive for endzone) caused the ball to move. I understand the ruling but the football move causes the ruling to be wrong!
