I just wish we had a passing game that had some different ways to get him the ball.

I watch a Denver game and I see Demaryius Thomas getting legal picks and bubble screens all game.

Dallas could do the exact same thing and I don't think there is a better open field runner at WR than Dez.

Instead we just run him off into coverage and throw it to him when he's wide open.

I'm sorry but Rapoport is looking to a sensational story and based on what these calls have been about there is nothing there to be concerned with. Biggest problem Dez has had was with his mother since then there really is not much to talk about.

There are a couple of issues here. First, there is the fact, as stated in the article, that Rapoport went to the police and got this information himself. I realize he may have been verifying something he got from a source, but he did not make that clear. This is just one of those "unnamed source" deals.
Second, the incidents reported don't amount to much, at least not since the domestic situation involving Bryant's mother. I work with a law enforcement agency and deal with the Texas Criminal Code, and can explain that these are not exactly the serious issues that Rapoport implies.
A sleeping baby getting locked in a car is often not a criminal issue, but more one where citizens are appealing to the police for help. It happens at times, and if this was just accidental, where the doors were locked with the keys inside the car, then this is not something to be concerned about. It probably was not a situation that can be laid at Bryant's feet in any case.
Harassment is a unique thing in the Criminal Code. The term harassment is only applicable to certain acts, including telephone or other electronic communication that is not desired by the recipient, and making threats that would cause a reasonable person to feel they were in imminent danger of bodily harm. It is usually filed at the address of the victim. Although not definitive, the fact this call was made indicates someone at the residence felt they were being harassed, and the vast majority of such complaints are against someone outside the residence. This hardly seems like something the team could hold against Bryant.
A robbery call at that address likewise indicates that the victim is likely a resident. If Rapoport is accurate in his reporting, then this would be a case of someone forcibly taking something from someone else, as opposed to simple theft. Again, that hardly seems a scenario where Bryant would be the actor. More likely, someone else from outside the home would be involved. If someone is trying to steal something from Bryant or another resident at his home, that is not a situation that the team would likely be able to hold against him.
There are also other reports that one of the calls involved a fire. That hardly needs to be addressed in light of the implications in the report.

So the original poster should be arrested for electronic harassment, right?

That was not the case in the past game where Linehan had him lining up in the slot more often and moving him around.

I love Dez Bryant. He is a monster and one of the best WR's in the NFL. But his off the field issues, (wait for the NFL.com article coming out soon) and troubles are true, then there's no way he gets Megatron money. Heck Megatron shouldn't have been paid so much. WR's just aren't worth that kind of money. There's plenty of very good WR's available via the draft, FA or already on the team. I would let him walk if he insists on that kind of money.

So you're saying his issues are true, before the "NFL.COM article" even comes out? You have a lot of faith in Rapoport.

lol yeah. I think people are looking closely at Dez and as far as I'm concerned fine look. Most of the things he has dealt with like in college was talking with an agent while having dinner with Deion. Wow

The other is the incident with his mother who has a lot of issue of her own. Outside of that Dez has been a very good teammate based on all I have seen. He is very passionate about this game and puts winning ahead of his own goals.

I think you're about two days late for that NFL.COM article if you're referring to that Rappaport report. It came out Sunday before the game. There's nothing new relating to any off field issues.

With his upbringing, unstable family and friends and going from rags to riches.......I bet this "minor stuff" is just that....minor!

Imagine how many leaches have come out of the wood-works and show up at his home begging for money and such. He is probably getting tired of everyone holding out their hands and I would too if I were him.

There might even be a recent incident of a minor skirmish from another deadbeat acquaintance of his, who knows. All I know is.....he has turned a 180 over the past year or so and is showing a lot more maturity.

A man can only take so much pestering and he is doing a good job of keeping family/friend squabbles quiet now.

Pay the man.......if it is reasonable.

BTW, this is all speculation on my part of what is going on :D

Friday I believe. He's had the local cops called to his house several times on minor stuff. Troubling.

SOME doctors have stated that the chances of getting SOME types of cancer MAY be reduced by eating Fruit Loops. There is no substance there.

Here's what 105.3 The Fan said about those reports

FYI, Dez's name was not on these reports. Bryant was on one call and Bryant alone.

The harassment 9/4/2011 - This was of somebody at the address receiving text, "we can make this stop." The Police were called to get a hold of the person to tell them stop. Again, the person "AT" the address received the text

The baby - Police were called for the baby being locked inside. Dez Bryant nowhere listed on the report.

Burglary 6/2/2013 - The call was made by a Johnson. The house was broken into while he was asleep while the house was dark. The burglar left thru the garage window. Dez's name nowhere on the report.

A neighborhood patrol incident was called in. - The radio guy called in to cross reference it. The Cowboys were in NY playing the Giants this day. Dez was playing in this game.

So yeah.

Lets just get rid of the entire starting offense just in case they have some irrelevant things that come up a few years from now that happened in the past.

Ever since the Duke Lacrosse rape case I have made it a priority of mine to try and hear the entire story before I start convicting somebody in my mind. And over the years I have had to view the sports media with a very critical eye, particularly when it comes to the Cowboys.

And it's shameful in both ways. The way that Peter King tried to backtrack when the Ray Rice tape leaked. King backtracked purely because he wanted to keep his sources in the NFL despite turning on his own peers that told the truth.

It really tells you how the sports media thinks...it's not about the truth...it's about reporting on something that will benefit them and their career the most.

I find it hilarious that now what Rappaport is reporting is starting to be conceived as Jerry Jones trying to smear Dez so he can get him at a lower contract. This is the same Jerry Jones that gets criticized *every year* for giving out big contracts to players. Now he is supposedly trying to get a player at a discount rate?

It's hypocritical and flat-out ludicrous.

It's a major problem with the Cowboys, the local media (in general) loves nothing more than to find a way to rip into the team and root for their demise. When Adam Schefter claimed that there was a 'schism' in the Vikings locker room because players wanted Tavaris Jackson as the QB instead of Brett Favre (I swear, I'm not making this up, this is what Schefter claimed)...it was laughed at and shot down by the entire Minnesota press.

When there is a report that players on Washington are against RG3 being their QB and that he 'doesn't relate to other players well', that was immediately shot down by the local Washington press.

Jerry would never need to create a smear campaign against any Dallas Cowboys player. He can simply let the national media and the local media do that instead.

I really have little worries about the entire situation. I am 99% confident that Dez gets signed to a long-term contract and it won't be a discounted rate. Just the need for hacks like Rappaport that try to smear Dez so he can make a bigger name for himself is disgusting.
