“I got a good little cheap shot in,” Wilcox said. “That’s the spark you need. I am trying to feed off it and get my defense right.”

Bryant’s view?

“J.J. put a nice hit on me,” the receiver said. “He pissed me off, but at the end of the day, I loved it. I told him, ‘Keep it coming.’ Hopefully the rest of the guys on that defense – not only the defense, but the offense and the whole team – feed off of that. That’s what it takes to win. That’s what we need to win. You’ve got to have that passion and that love for the game.”

I love these 2

Dez is the Man!

How can anyone NOT love this guys attitude? We now have at least 2 guys who have the fire. Lets hope it spreads.

I wish they would just let this guy push Carter for the starting spot. I just get the feeling Carter lacks confidence. You got a guy like Holloman who I think compliments a guy like McClain. Dude is all over the field and he can recognize plays very quickly which is another thing that Carter has struggled with. Just get the best 11 out there. Unfortunately I see Carter as a major bust for this club, and I had high hopes for him

Best man should win the job. Everyone should have to compete for their spots. This guy wants it bad.

Love JJ in attack mode.
As long as that cheap shot doesn't take our star receiver out of a real game or season.
If that happened, I'm hiring a hit man

That's the only thing I didn't like about that hit. Other than that, bring it on.

It means nothing if they're not doing this out on Sunday's. I hate to be the debby downer and while I do like Wilcox and think there's something there....i'm not going to get excited until I see it out on Sunday's. There have been far too many Sunday's where it seems like Dez is the only one out there who cares.

If you hate to be a Debbie downer than by be one? You do have a choice. Most here are excited about one of our players showing leadership. There is nothing wrong with that. If you want to be a Debbie downer thats your choice. But please don't come off as hating it. Just saying you don't have to.

Ahh I don't know. I guess i'm just a Debbie Downer I guess lol. I wasn't complaining about it. I personally am just tired of being in this same boat every offseason saying the same thing. We say this same exact thing every year........and none of it translates into the season.

I love the attitudes of both players, but please no injury to arguably the face of our franchise. I would hate for Wilcox to become public enemy #1 overnight.

This is the kind of attitude you want to see in your players.

This is a good thread. It is a welcomed thread. It is always heartwarming to witness something excite fans. If it takes J.J. Wilcox knocking heads off, so be it. It is a refreshing break in misery rekindled daily, blamed upon others, acknowledged by everyone many years ago, and continually martyred by few.

Then again, it would also be appreciated if Wilcox allowed Dez Bryant to retain his head while knocking it off. :)
