After the game I saw far too many smiles, hugs, and handshakes after the game, but I understand that is just professional protocal, and many of our players will take this loss even harder than we did.
Dez was pretty impressive for his first game, in my opinion. Romo looks like he already trusts him, and it was great watching him throw defenders around like rag dolls. This guy is special, and we will see it all start clicking very soon.
One thing that made me laugh was when Miles said he would just go look at things he needed to improve on and try to fix them. How do you improve from a perfect game?!? LOL...I know what he means, but still, the guy caught every single pass he was targeted for, and made some big YAC's as well. Austin was awesome tonight...He and Dez should have nothing to feel disappointed about.
That worried me too, but damn he is strong. And you can tell he hates the stinkin' skins. You gotta love it.hornitosmonster;3551030 said:I love Dez's intensity as a football player. I thought he was going to get called on the body slam...

I can't believe these guys who take a loss like this so well.

Very encouraging first game overall after we quit having him run WR screens for every route.

I see Austin with another 1000 yard season

Dez also set the Cowboys' all-time record for most catches in Week 1 of a player's rookie season. Herschel Walker had the old record of six, and Antonio Bryant held the old record for wide receivers with a mere four. Dez doubled that.
He tied Bob Hayes' franchise record for catches in a game by a rookie wide receiver. Hayes did it in Week 4 in 1965. (Herschel holds the record for any position, with nine catches in a game twice during his rookie season.)
And finally, Dez caught more passes in his first NFL game than Patrick Crayton has ever had in any game.

Yeah I'd say we upgraded that spot.AdamJT13;3551208 said:Dez caught more passes in his first NFL game than Patrick Crayton has ever had in any game.
