They were talking about this on NFL radio today, about never putting Dez in bunch formations, slot or in motion to avoid the coverage. They couldn't understand why they didn't do it, when Linehan did it with Calvin in Detroit.

I think because we're not really running Linehan's offense. Like Callahan before (remember that whole debacle), he's calling Garret's playbook. People have been saying this for years - yes superior talent is a must, but why not help superior talent via scheme? I imagine how much better Romo, WItten, Dez, etc could have been making thsi offense so much better meaning we could spend more resource on the D had someone with proven offensive coaching skills and not just a long history as a backup QB and "Princeton" had come in here. This isn't to bash JG, put person X in with that background and I'd say the same. There are so many proven offensive coaches...frustrating that sandlot Romo is our best offense.

Ok so this begs the following question:

Is he running so many go routes because that's the only route he can run consistently well? Clearly it's a sorry gameplan to have him run 1-2 routes of anything NOT a go route.

It explains why he goes invisible in games as people suggest.

Its not that. I went back and watche dthe first few games from 2014. The Tennessee Game had Dez on crossing patterns, ins, slants, etc. Very few go routes. 14 Targets - 10 Catches -103 yrds and a TD. (Demarco went 29-167 which helps, but the routes were and plan were to go to Dez early and often)

Coaching is a major part of the problem. Give Dez the benefit of the doubt for his first real game back without injury. It's put up or shut up time for Dez from this point forward. He dropped to many balls last year (after returning from injury). He can't afford to make that a trend.

Could it be possible that the coaching staff are still cautious about his previous foot injury and aren't giving him too many hard cutting routes? Sorry if this has already been brought up.

Would love to see what Pete Carmichael from NO would do with this offense.

I found this little gem on Twitter and it disgusted me. How is it that we have a top WR in the game and we have him running over 50% go routes?????? This is a coordinator problem. Is linehan this stubborn that he thinks he can line Dez up and just say go??? He needs to go, a high school coach can come up with a better offensive game plan than that!!!!

Wait, so there has to be a beast RB? What about the OL that everyone felt needed a catchy nickname because they are just so dominant?

There doesn't have to be one, but one was in place to help Wilson and take the pressure off of him. Now that there isn't a formidable threat on the ground who can produce week in and out defenses can focus on Wilson. Case in point, he looked like a rookie on some of his decisions on Sunday.

As far as the Oline, Zeke could've been a little more patient instead of running into lanes as if he were a FB drawing immediate contact from the defensive line. As much as the opportunity is there to assert sarcasm in regards to any area of our gameplan, lets not act like the entire line had a bad game when we can easily point to one who kept getting beat. On top of that they faced 8 men in the box on sure run plays with a rookie RB. Notice how Morris had more success running through those same lanes? As I to my original point, time will help Dak.

He ran more than just go routes, his only catch was on a comeback route and he ran it beautifully.
