I wonder how Dez compares to Crabtree. I never watched both players, just went by what I read. Dez was suppose to be the best WR in this years draft and Crabtree last years draft. So if anybody knows how would the 2 compare in skills? Who will have more upside in the long run?

Lots of talent and top of their draft class/position...
Crabs was insulted by his draft position and made a fool of himself holding out on the team that gave him a chance.
dez is just happy to be playing and cant wait to practice with his team.

I've seen them both the last few years. Crabtree is at a little different level. He's just a better all around receiver and a better athlete. However, Dez is a really good athlete and really skilled. Crabtree has better speed and better hands.

Personally I think Dez is more physical and Crabtree is more finesse. In college i'd give a slight edge to Crabtree.

I liked Crabtree, but he IMO he is missing introspection. I don't think Dez does. Introspection is where a player sees his faults and works towards correcting them. Crabtree has zero humility.

I agree with the physical vs finesse part, but not the edge. Dez averaged more than a TD a game. Points is what it's about. Give me Dez in college and in the pros.

As a Tech season ticket holder I might be a little biased :laugh2:

Crabtree made some plays in college that blew my mind. Lets hope Dez does the same in the NFL!

I think Crabtree has issues with physical cornors. Dez will not. Dez IMO issue is he won't take it to the house as much due to his straight line speed issues. I see him being a big time possession receiver who has the ability to make the big play. I like his comparison to Boldin, but being a better big play threat fits.

Hopefully that translates to the NFL.

While I'm annoyed with Crabtree and his holdout, I hope both players excel because great WRs are awesome to watch. (I don't saw awesome much hehe)

Ya'll check out the coach Sherman interview on DC.com. He thinks Dez has the potential to be as good as TO or Moss. Crazy to hear that comin from a guy that coached both. I hope Dez doesn't hear that though.

Ya we were all peeved about the holdout. He listened to some bad advice and I think it really set back his transition to the NFL. I hope Dez and his crew learn from Crabtree's mistakes.

They both know Deion Sanders and both have the same mentors AND same agent. :bang2:

No way is Crabtree a better athlete...

Heck no way Crabtree is faster than Dez. If anything Crabtree is more like Fitzgerald. Great hands and body control. Dez is similar too, except more speed. Now his 40 times didn't indicate that, but on the field, he seems like a 4.3 guy and not 4.5 guy that he was timed at.

But I think from what I have seen, Crabtree is definite Superstar in making, IMO, even before he played in NFL. From what I have seen of Dez he could be one too, but I think he is more of a question mark than Crabtree is.

I am not sure if Dez being selected top 10 would have been good for him either. I think he needs bit more seasoning than Crabtree would. But you never know I guess. Most thought Desean Jackson is a knucklehead and wouldn't be that good in NFL because of his size etc. He is a knuckle head or might be one, but does seem like a great WR on the field though.

Just posted that myself. Anyone who has seen both cannot say Crabtree is better athlete i.e. speed wise. Better overall WR? I think Crabtree definetly was one in College and seems like if first season is any indication will be a Superstar soon.

I'd much rather have Crabtree

But I can't complain about having to settle for Dez :D

I agree but Crabtree can be a little more physical than people credit him for. Remember his most memorable play against Texas. Oklahoma State used him a lot in goaline situations because he was a good jump ball guy. And Oklahoma State was great at running the ball and getting close to the end zone. Crabtree isn't as physical as Bryant but he has more of an all around game as a WR. Dez will be a great fit for Dallas because he's a better Roy Williams and we have our star WR in Miles Austin.

Id prefer Crabtree, but i'd take Miles or K.O over either.

Crabtree has break away speed and is much more physical than people here are giving him credit. When OSU has played good defenses with Dez he's had some good red zone plays but he can't separate for big plays. Crabtree can and he had a pretty good rookie year even though he only played a little bit.

I think our O is gonna have the ability to beat up some defenses.
