Dez-Wilcox fight. Any chance it was planned?

0% percent chance they would risk Dez breaking a hand or finger hitting a helmet. If they would think of something so stupid, they would deserve the consequences.

Me personally, I don't think it was planned. However, I wouldn't discount the possibility entirely, and wouldn't be completely shocked if it was. We'll probably never know for sure, either way, if it helps the defense take on a more agressive persona I'm all for it.

Given the talk by critics I'm sure the defense does have a chip on their shoulders and I think just being aggressive. There is a lot of trash talking taking place as well so these altercation are not a surprise to me

Do you remember when Parcell's came to the Cowboys, next thing you know Emmitt is released. No fault of Emmitt but with a veteran with the skins on the wall that he had it would be hard for Bill to install his philosophy. I think the same thing could be said for Ware and Lee being gone, it may allow some of the younger players to step up into the void of leadership. Hopefully some of the "dogs" will surface and lead this defense, sounds like it's already started.
I kinda sorta agree with that, though I think it holds more true for Ware than for Lee. The problem is that those "dogs" have to be good players, and idk if we are at that point yet.

What I meant by Lee is that in his absence someone needs to step up. You know, in the SB Seattle was the better team but the intimidation factor help decide that game early in the first half with Kam's hit on Thomas and getting good hits on Manning making him uncomfortable in the pocket.
I felt like over the years this defense has lost the fear factor, Eli writing messages in Cowboys Stadium, Jacobs running his mouth without fear of repercussions, Lee getting laid out and nothing happens now McCoy saying that he owns the Cowboys. Other player shouldn't feel comfortable saying things like that and if so you are definitely doing something wrong.

It wasn't that big of a hit for Dez to get that wound up about. Dez immediately went for a head-butt but didn't really connect. Wilcox immediately started swing wildly. A few minutes later Dez was praising Wilcox for the intensity. Wilcox blamed himself for a cheap shot.

Back when Jimmy was here, he would get James Washington to intentionally start a fight to get the other players fired up. I think that Washington picked a fight with Irvin at least once.

james washington was a real tough guy.... loved his mentality.

we cant even get our head coach fired up when hes being screwed what makes you think the players or even the coaches would risk an injury to one of their star players? Could Wilcox have said it to himself? Doubtful, Wilcox to me seems like he wants to play but he knows hes not more valuable to the team than Dez. IF Dez did anything, they might look the other way, if Wilcox really did something to Dez, theres a fine coming his way.

Well, it is the Dallas Cowboys. It happened on a grassy field. I guess we will never knoll for sure.

That and Emmitt was pretty much done. He was always a very selfish player, which is fine when you're arguably the GOAT, but by that point in his career he didn't fit in with what Parcells was trying to do.
