I'm going to say if he plays all next game that it isn't a disc issue, although saying "disc issue" is pretty broad, however professional athlete or not even a small protrusion that happened to press on a nerve ending or a full blown herniation would make it so he couldn't play.an entire game. I've had 5 surgeries for herniations and cysts in the past 5 years, I'm currently in the military and ran 30 miles a week prior to my injury. As a previous poster said I'd have it looked at by either a neurologist or ortho specialist to see what was going on, and if he has any type of degenerative problem I'd cut ties at the end of his contract.

With the way he moves I don't believe it's anything offseason therapy can't fix. I was dealing with disc issues all of last year it's definitely a pain but it was tolerable playing basketball. The problem is the back likely needs rest but Dez won't sit out for anything

Bye week happening at the right time.

Dez. Wilcox. Claiborne. Miles. Holloman.

Will be good to get some of these guys back.

And it will be good to get Hatcher and Hayden healthy.

I have 2 herniated, 1 bulging, and 1 torn and protruding and I can barely walk, can't sit straight at all. I can't imagine the torque his back goes thru. I love Dez, dont get me wrong but in the interest of both parties, his back needs to have numerous medical examinations.

Yes.

If he has a disc problem, I would not even think about an extension. I have two herniated discs myself, and I can't imagine dealing with that issue with all of the twisting that he does, and as physical as he is (he does not avoid hits).

Just as an aside, I suggest you check out www.drbookspan.com.. And check out her book "Fix Pain without drugs or surgery".. Trust me on this...

2 words for you. Decompression treatment. Miraculous. 2 herniated discs also. Dont even have back issues anymore.

I have a partially torn, degenerative and herniated disk between L4-L5. I've had 2 injections in the spinal space around it to deal with it (I do not want disk fusion surgery) and keep a rx for some pretty heavy duty stuff to deal with the pain when it flares up. As stated previously, it can completely debilitate you as I sometimes can't get up and out of bed to do anything, including relieving myself without having to crawl (literally). The problem is you NEVER know when this can happen, or from what. As an example, I spent 6-7 weekends in a row, clearing property with a chainsaw and had NO problems, felt terrific. The next weekend after finishing the work, I bent over to pick up an empty grocery bag and bam. I was flat out for a week.

If the disk "speculation" is true, it is a serious issue.

Do some hip flexor stretches and core strengthening. It did wonders for my disc issue.

There is a back exercise called good mornings that really feels great.

All of this can be found on youtube.

Relax, people.

The Cowboys own their own CT's and MRI's, and have the best Neurosurgeons and Radiologists under contract.
They have every incentive to deal with their assets responsibly, and you won't need to worry about that.
All the anecdotal evidence that can be posted actually has very little to do with the specific case of Bryant.

There is no way that Dez or any other Cowboy will play for short term gain while risking their long term future, especially now that we know about CTE.
Yes, critics can rant about how stupid or short-sighted we all were, but we had no definitive evidence of later-life disease until the recent studies.
We still don't have all the etiologic factors referable to CTE, since it does occur consistently in subjects with the same exposures.

But the liability is now undeniable and thrust to the forefront. The huge class action suits may be just the beginning, and if any club acts irresponsibly,
their exposure will be in the billions. We may eventually be watching the NFFL -- National Flag Football League -- due to liability.

I think Dez just likes to take Wednesdays off. He's done it a lot. Doesn't seem to hurt him on Sundays, so I guess that's okay.
