Dez with Garrett shade

Dez was one of my favorite players because of his intensity and passion for the star but no one ever thought Dez was bringing A+ football takes to anything.

Dez as commentator needs to die off quickly. There is a reason no media outlet will hire him.
Dez uses base/foul language too much.

So he’s stuck using X/twitter.

His football skills were elite before the broken leg/achilles.

One of our tops WRs all time.

well Jerry is the one who controls everything, the HC, and staff have been his hires.
The coaches have been to blame for much of what we see in games.
The players, if they play poorly, Jerry controls the draft, and FA, so again it is on him.
You might want to read that over and over until it sinks in and how ridiculous that sounds..

no, the players were the ones that you're saying are legacy players, these great players ,with great names ,were drafted ,they were paid to be great, but in great moments they failed and that is on the players!!
you want to blame Jerry for not giving them enough to surround them with better greatness, that's one thing,
but when you have a season to where you have three straight 12 win seasons that you win the division twice from one of the better drafting team from one of the better teams with the better GM's and you get into the playoffs three straight years, 5 of past eight years, at that point Jerrys off the hook..
it's it is on the coaches and players to perform and when they don't that is squarely on them...
so I'm not crying or playing a little fiddle for these players because they are part of the problem they were part of the problem if you don't get that that they didn't show up when it counted and that also goes for Zach Martin I don't wanna hear the crying there were games and with the entire offensive line couldn't even get 3 yards per carry they couldn't open holes they weren't blocking well now there was one game against San Francisco where the offensive line had 11 penalties and you wanna act like we should worry about Jason Witten tyron Smith Zach Martin all these great legacy lineman no they failed to show up when they were get most of the most!!

you're worse than Jerry coddling the players giving them excuses no once they're put on the field once they become a legacy player they got this huge contract we all see the games it is squarely on the coaches and players and not on Jerry at that point he apparently put enough talent on that team to win and they failed to show up when they needed too...

Rant OVER!!!

Which teams? The 2014 team that had George Selvie, Nick Hayden, Tyrone Crawford and Jeremy Mincey as the starting defensive line? Or maybe the 2016 team that had Tyrone Crawford, Terrell McClain, Maliek Collins and Jack Crawford?

Garrett held the offense back some with his offensive philosophy that lack creativity, but the front office didn't give those teams much of a defense.
Exactly right.

We consistently ranked bottom five in defensive passer rating which is a benchmark metric because you can get away with it in the regular season but playoff QB’s will eventually doom you.

Think about the Dez catch. Would we have stopped Rogers on a game winning drive?

We really never had a chance with those defenses the way they were built which was a shame because with Romo, Witten and Dez with Demarco’s time of possession we absolutely had the offense.

The only thing I blame Garrett for is despite the weapons we had on offense, we didn't have the coaching to make the offense elite. I think offensively we put together the pieces, but his refusal to be creative and make it all about execution didn't allow us to take full advantage of that.

Now, that would have mattered if we had the front office had used free agency to make the defense good enough. What we've seen over the years is that you can win Super Bowls with an elite offense, you can win Super Bowls with an elite defense and you can win Super Bowls with balance (top 10 offense and defense). Our front office didn't allow for balance, and the only reason we really had any chance at an elite offense was lucking into Romo as a UDFA.

The front office deserves some credit for drafting well enough to surround him with some talent on offense, but it deserves blame for doing nothing in free agency to make the defense good enough.
