Was waiting in the car for a couple of hours, and decided to listen to 103.3 DFW sports...they're doing the same thing the national media is doing, Nate Newton, Clarence Hill, et al just let Romo HAVE IT for his weekend Cancun trip. And they went on and on how the players are being unfocused in their bye week just b/c they attended the freagin' BCS national championship game last night in the Big Easy:)confused: ), and Wade did this crap, did that crap, that let his guys party last week:)confused: ).

OK-what should we do? Lock the entire Dallas Cowboys organization under lockdown at Valley Ranch?:bang2:

If they win, this all goes away. If they lose, they'll be lambasted in the media for a while. It's all in their hands now.

The sky is BLUE!!!

Seriously, that's what they do. If they couldn't talk bad about the Cowboys and spend hours upon hours making up cutsy names like "Camp Cupcake", "Cows", and "Mr. Fix It"... they wouldn't know what to do with themselves.

It's gonna be like that until we win something. Not sure if you've missed it, but we've gone without a playoff win for more than a decade. Negative media is easier than real media, so that angle will get played up until our team proves it isn't a factor or our start QB stop dating starlets. As I would hate to discourage anyone from continuing to tap those fine pieces, you're probably just going to have to wait for option 1 (the Cowboys start winning playoff games) until the mental midgets who run the media change their approach.

After that, I like Nate Newton alot. I think Big Nate is just coached on what to say sometimes.

:laugh2:

I wonder how they're "getting tough" in NY?

Apparently, the newspaper didn't give a second thought to how tough one just might have to be to survive a night with Jessica Simpson. Her libido nothing to play about.

Until Romo steps on the field Sunday and plays well, this stuff will continue. We don't know if their criticisms are justified yet. We'll find out Sunday, though.

Y'know... I thought at first that there might be something to this going to Cancun distraction thing. Maybe Romo was a little too non-chalant.

I thought that for about a half a day. Then I realized this...

Romo is going to hear so much about this, and his perceived lack of focus, from the media (including things like this), that there's no way he goes into this game unfocused.

IMO the only way a real competitor gets caught with a lack of focus is when he gets overconfidence from the media. If the media is calling you out for your lack of focus beforehand, how can you not want to go in there and prove everyone wrong?

Here's to the media blitz on this trip motivating Romo into his best game of the year.

Funniest part none of the media can get their story straight. So far I have heard

2 days in cancun
3 days in cancun
5 days in cabo san lucas
4 days in Los Cabo

I don’t have a problem with Romo getting away but i don’t understand why the Cowboys are off today! They had a light walkthrough yesterday and already taking another day off. Well, i trust Wade knows what he is doing.

Tuesday is traditionally the off day, no?

If so, they probably don't want to change the routine, any.

Maybe they should have been giving Nate a hand loading blocks of the hippy lettuce into a van.

I was just thinking the same thing. All week prior to the GB game, we heard questions about whether or not Romo would be jittery being on the same field with his boyhood idol. Not so jittery, after all. Romo, not Favre.

The pressure to perform probably helps Romo, if anything. With TO and Glenn back, too, it should be a great game this weekend.

I guess Nate figures he would have been better off hauling a van-load of drugs or going to dog fights.

I couldn't disagree more. Having been part of the SB-winning dynasty of the '90s do you not think that Nate Newton knows a thing or two about PO games and what it takes to win them??? Troy Aikman never did this in the bye week, not that I can remember. This is the time for this team to be thinking about how they are going to take it from the NFL-level to the NFL-playoff-level, not lazying around in the sun...

Newton is the last to talk. If I'm not mistaken, he was one of the spearheads behind the infamous "White House." Talk about having a place to get away, relax, and hang loose!

Maybe Tony and the rest of the Boys should start a new white house so Fat Nate, and the rest of the media, can chill and cut them some slack for having to get out of town to relax.

Romo along with Witten going to Mexico on their day off is not going to do a damn thing. What was he to do sit in his house thinking about an opponent that was unknown? Wade told the guys to take it easy and forget about football for a few days and that is what Romo and Witten did. No big deal and at least he was not hanging out at some topless bar in Dallas or getting into trouble.
