Did anybody else see Wentz's pro day?

The wet ball throws were weird....but remember Aikman had troubles with wet balls too. Everything else was really good. No chance he is there at 4. Goff should be...or Ramsey.

Ramsey or bosa is our pick unless tunsil is there

Based on many of the pro-Wentz comments above, it sounds like some nobody from NDSU is the all-time greatest QB ever. It's hilarious.

Chiefs picked OT Fisher with the number one pick and almost everyone thought he was going to be some stellar OL. He turned out to be nothing but a backup at best.

What does that have to do with Wentz?

You guys are nuts. Wentz is a good prospect, but not a big time QB. He's a lower level QB who has never proven himself against top competition. Not giving up 2 first round picks for that risk

Tony romo played against lower level comp
I get the argument that we have too many needs to give up extra picks for a QB and in many ways I agree. But consider this, we play tony till he can't do it anymore and we ink out an 8-8 record. What do you think the cost, in picks will be to move up for a QB from the middle of the draft? At some point unless you have a 2 win season you are going to have no option but give more than one pick to get a QB in all likelihood

Almost no chance Tunsil will be there unless Tennessee trades down. I really won't be mad if we got either QB, Elliott, Ramsey or Bosa.

If tunsil was there I don't see them using another top pick on an oline guy. Just be too much invested in one part of the team

...

Even Romo said he wasn't ready for the NFL for about three years. Had Romo been thrown into the fire his rookie season, he would have failed miserably.

Same with Wentz. He just isn't ready and won't be for three years in my opinion. Draft Wentz and he most likely won't even be active his first year. Even if Romo were to get injured, Wentz will do nothing THIS year. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada.

I agree and I could care less. Taking Wentz to me is not about this year but the future. I actually believe in the concept that you fix a problem before it becomes a bigger problem. At some point in the very near future we have to replace tony, why wait? The cost will only be higher in the form of picks because I don't believe we will be picking 4 that often

So?

Drafting Wentz is not about 2016. It's about having your franchise QB as far as 2030. It's about filling the most important and difficult position in all of sports.

Drafting Wentz is a long term pick. It requires looking long term thinking, not shortsightedness, which is what I am seeing.. A responsible management team looks long term as well as next year. That's what the #4 pick is all about.

To this point, is Wentz really worth the #4 pick? He may be ahead of others at this point (not by much in some cases), but don't you feel that gap can be closed with 2yrs on the bench?

I'm having a hard time why so many have him rated as high as he is. Yes, he has size and a nice set of physical tools and seems to have leadership qualities that can be projected into the next level. But that can be said about guys that are being discussed for day 2.

That first throw in that video after they wet the ball looked positively Hackenbergish.

They did the same thing to Goff...........after taking the snap of the wet ball..Goff tucked the ball, wiped his throwing hand on his dry clothes and then threw it.......as if on a wet rainy Sunday, he'll be able to get that done while avoiding a pass rush........but maybe standing back in a spread offense all his college days he was able to get used to doing that............

The hype is getting insane. We're not trading up to #1 to get him. That'd ridiculous.

None of the guys discussed as day two guys have the combination of physical and mental tools Wentz does. He is big with a big arm, can run well, has nice touch , loves football and is very bright.
There is a reason they are discussed as day two even though some have more experience and against better competition. What Wentz has is rare and had he played on tv every week he would be looked at much different. Wentz has everything you want but experience
