Did anyone else hear Norm this morning talking about the 6th we got from the Jets

I wouldn't have given a 3rd but a 4th I would. They gave a 2018 5th for the 6th straight up. So moving that pick up a round, still getting that 6th and Richardson would have been worth it. And I haven't even been an advocate for bringing him in. There's a solid chance you get that 4th back, but you likely get a 5th back at minimum.

Jets get 2018 4th

Cowboys gets 2017 6th(Woods)
Sheldon Richardson
2019 4th or 5th.

A fan on Twitter posted an interesting thought. He asked if it was possible to trade Oscan for Richardson.

I'm not usually a fan of trade speculation....but this one seems like it could benefit both players and teams.

Agree Big Dog not giving up a third our scouting deptartment is on fire I want us to have as many picks as possible so our scouting dept can work their magic
thought they could fleece the old wildcatter as has been done before, shame on the jets!

Jets are tanking the season for a QB,a 3rd is really unrealistic.they can still move him but it wont be any better than a 6th RD pick.

Actually, right now I think Dak will be somewhat of a liability until he really develops into what he will become. Hopefully, by adding Switzer and giving him another toy over the middle, it'll help him.

He improved throwing down the field significantly within last season working with Dez when he came back. Their improved rapport was a big reason why they were so dominant in the playoff.

Outside of that I am not sure what he cannot do. He can already read the middle of the field and make accurate throws which to me is the hardest thing for young QBs to master. Typically they come in proficient at the deep ball.

He reminds me a lot of Tom Brady in how he executes making accurate throws all over the field to a variety of receivers.

Yes, a 1 year rental is worth a third. Because if he plays well in 2017, but we don't re-sign him, you get a 4th round comp pick if someone signs him for a big deal. Or, he plays well in 2017, and we decide to keep him long-term, and the third was worth it.

The reason we wont do it is because he's not a RKG. And the reason the Jets wont do it for less than a 3rd is because they'll get a comp pick if they keep him this year.
Too much downside. Not worth the risk. The Cowboys have a good thing going. No reason to add a potential cancer.

Reports are that he and Brandon Marshall destroyed the locker room chemistry last year. A 3rd is way too much for a risk like that.
Yeah I'm kinda done with the locker room cancer guys at any price.

Still not sure where Richardson fits, more of a 3tech in 4-3 and would be a progress stopper for Malik.... Glad we didnt go that direction...

Dez and Williams on the outside bracketing Beasely and Switzer in the slot. Nice lineup.

I am fine with waiting until they cut him and then seeing if he wants a 1-year "prove it" deal (to prove he isn't a cancer)

It is not cheaper, it's actually more expensive, just shorter term.

right, cheaper in the sense that you get his prime years at franchise tag. then i presume lower AAV after 3 years.
he will be 30 at the end of the 3 years.
