Bill Cowher interviewed Jeff Fisher at halftime of the Ravens Dolphins game and was asled what he did this week and Fisher said he had his team working on basics like tackling, running the ball and red zone stuff. The thing that got my attention is he said he had the team working in pads. He said they didn't like it but felt it was necessary. He also had them compete against each other and the losers had to run.

Does this sound anything like Wade's approach? Wade would have let them all go on vacation like last year and rest their legs. I'm curious to see how the Titans play next week. I bet they come out with more energy than we showed last year.

This guy is an old school Chicago Bear, it doesnt suprise me one bit.

Jimmy did the same thing. I remember watching America's Game for the 93 team and him talking about having em out in pads before the SB.

he's a real head coach not a dc trying to act like a head coach.

According to some reports, the Cowboys did not practice in pads once the week before the Philly game. They didn't even do a routine walkthru on the Saturday before.

You play like you practice, and the Cowboys sure as hell proved that saying is true in the Philly game.

He's a real head coach and a real LEADER. They are a TEAM - we are a like a nasty dsyfunctional family - and I use the term "family" loosely.

Those of you who don't think grown men at this level don't need leaders are absolutely kidding themselves.

Sparano was talking the other day and they asked him about the practice schedule through the holidays and he says they dont change a thing they are practicing on new years eve and new years just to keep things consistent..

I think we'd all love to have Fisher.

In fact, Jerry loves Fisher, too... But he's never been available when we needed a coach.

And BTW, seeing Cowher juxtaposed with Fisher just cemented in my mind what a d-bag Cowher is. Please give me Holmgren or Shanahan over him.

Holmgren sucks IMO/FWIW.

I dont know its hard to believe a guy who has produced so many quality coaches in the NFL is that bad of a coach.

he still should have beaten Cowher in that super bowl though...

unfortunately for him they couldnt overcome two teams on the field that day

Holmgren or Shanahan >>> Cowher

fisher is the best coach in the league imo

i would love to have him running things in dallas

oh wait....we have wade

I'd still take Cowher over Holmgren.

I'd take Shanahan over the entire bunch.

I was all for keeping Wade until Shanahan got released. I can't believe we aren't all over this.

He is exactly who we need.

Something tells me if Jerry is just looking for an excuse to make this move ,and if Red takes a job elsewhere, than Wade is done.

What exactly is it that you like about Holmgren?

He looks exactly like my 5th grade teacher. That has to count for something...:D

Im not a huge fan of his but if you look at the other quality coaches around the league that spent time with him it is impressive. When you look at the great coaches in the NFL they usually have a legacy of other coaches that use to work under them. Reid, Mooch, Fisher, Gruden etc.. have all been pretty successful after their tenure under Holmgren, I dont think it is a coincidence.
