Did anyone watch the new Spartacus series on STARZ

Did anyone watch the new Spartacus series? I tried to watch the premiere last night but got a little bored around the thirty minute mark. Just wondering if it was worth sticking around for.

I watched the entire premiere and even recorded in on my DVR. I'll say this. It will have to improve a lot over the next episode or two to keep me interested.

Heck, my main motivation for watching was to see Lucy Lawless. Her character did not offer very much dialogue, so I was kinda disappointed. And what the heck was with dyeing her hair blood red??? It's not a great look for her. As a director, makeup artist, etc., why would you even try to make a beautiful woman look less like one?

Parts of it were ok, other parts not so much.

It was like they took frank miller and mixed it with cinemax after dark. :laugh2:

It has to improve but I am willing to give it a chance.

It struck me as pretty cheesy. And a total rip off of 300's cinematic style. Plus theres a sex scene about every thirty seconds. Just not much substance. It relies on the gallons of blood and naked bodies a lil too much for my taste.

I saw part of the preview and thought it was some sort of comedy re-do thingy like when they were making fun of 300...

Saw the sneak peek, I thought it was pretty terrible.

reminded me of Gladiator mixed with 300 filmed with Zena / Hercules quality actors.....very cheesy start but got better at end ...great effects ..but grossly overdone......will give it more time only cause i love these type shows

Believe me I have nothing against hot bodies but that isn't enough...and lucy lawless...sorry but she was never anything but a poor "woman" caught between genders. Now you just have a recycled meltdown.

The original Sparticus movie with Kirk Douglass had soul and class...even if it was heavily sexualized (for its day). If you want something good to watch -- check that out.
