Did Bobby Wagner just never want to join Dallas?

More than likely the Jones didn’t sign off on it, though I guess it’s possible he didn’t want to go to Dallas.

Quinn was our DC for a few years and many times Wagner was brought up as coming here but never did. As soon as Quinn leaves to coach Washington Wagner is right there and signs.

"As it turns out, Quinn was a major factor in Wagner coming to the Commanders as part of a new era under owner Josh Harris."
Simple, Dallas is cheap.

DQ wanted him here too. And Bobby wanted to be here. He was too expensive for Jerry and SJ.

He mentioned it before, something along the lines of their offer being insulting.

He clearly wants to play for Dan Quinn so that wasn't the issue.

Apparently Cap Boy's offer of free Whataburger coupons as a signing bonus was not appealing to Bobby...................weird, huh.

Wagner is taking online classes at Howard University and he expressed interest in taking in person classes.

That and money I believe were factors in him going to Washington.

He didn't want to come in here for Stephen's 1-year 3M dollar contract that he throws at every; veteran outside free agent. Stephon Diggs can be had? Stephen would only offer 1-year 3M.

Dallas never called. Players should come to the Cowboys if they’re interested.

We'll never know if he would have taken an "honest offer" if Cap Boy would have even called. My guess is so many people wanted him here, so Jerry must do the opposite. Jerry must win (lose) his way.

By the time Wagner became available he was at an age this team avoids with the salary he was still commanding despite his declining skillset (liability in coverage). Wagner is being brought into Washington to help implement the defense. Guessing they felt LVE was capable of doing so! Also they brought in the LB / converted safety from Atlanta for that first season!

he might have been ready to lay down and pick up a check for doing nothing yet. Give him a few more years and he might not have decided to come here and lay down and get a check. Look at the team, almost all are doing so he could too.
