Come on zoner's Emmitt predicting only 7 games this year! With Emmitt working for ESPN who is a Cowboy enemy, he can't show his allegiance to Dallas. However, looking into it maybe he was secretly trying to lite a fire. How much flack would Emmitt catch from his ESPN colleagues by predicting Cowboy success? Do you think he meant it or was it intended to lite a fire? I do know this that ESPN loved him saying those comments. I think he may have said this hoping for a different outcome. Your thoughts?

I am not sure Emmitt could say Reverse Psychology without screwing it up...so I kind of doubt that was what he was doing.:p:

I think Emmitt said what he felt, I don't think he was using reverse psychology. I have no doubt Emmitt is pulling for the Cowboys but when he gave his view he gave what he felt was the truth

I don't Emmitt was thinking that far ahead - if we start out 4-0, yes, then he will tell you he was.

Emmitt doesn't work for ESPN, does he?

Nope. I think that's a reach. With the exception of Flozell Adams and Andre Gurode, Emmitt Smith didn't enjoyed any type of close professional football relationship with any of the current players on the roster. I doubt that he believes that his words will have any more impact than those coming from anyone else--of which there have been plenty others proclaiming the same or worst.

Even the best of us believe we're right most or all of the time. Smith is no different. He could be right, but I extremely doubt it. We'll see.

No.

Emmitt is a moron. Great football player, but a narcissistic moron.

He's too dumb to do something like that. And why would we? He put his professional reputation (HA!) on the line by predicting something. Do you really think he would intentionally guess something wrong in the idle hope it would have the reverse effect thereby requiring him to explain later why he did what he did?

Of course not.

Quit trying to rationalize things. Emmitt just fired his moron mouth off. And he'll look dumb for it.
