I guess I just have a really difficult time understanding the bitterness towards the NFL. I mean, the process is one sided to be sure. However, the players knew all of this when they voted for the new CBA. The NFLPA allowed them to do this so it's really the fault of the players and the NFLPA IMO. I remember discussing this when the CBA was signed. Now the NFL is the problem and the Commissioner is the problem. Well, this is the deal they signed up for. How do you fault the NFL for using the power the players voted to give them and the power they, basically, bought and paid for? If it were me, I would take advantage of every benefit any given contract provided for me. I think that most people would. sucks for the players but honestly, they were just interested in the money.

I don't understand why fans don't have more outrage over the Players or the NFLPA.

If Roger is still commissioner when the next CBA comes up expect a long fight and work stoppage.

I respectfully disagree. Despite the posturing we are already seeing, the rank and file just don't have the stomach for it, especially over this issue. While article 46 has dominated offseason headlines for a couple years now, I just don't see 1,500 men going to the mattresses for something which impacts what? 2 players per year?

The only things the union truly wants and will truly fight for are more money and safer (easier?) working conditions. They won't fight to get rid of article 46 if it costs them a percentage point of revenue disbursement.

Doesn't affect many, but you never know when it might be you. Anybody can be accused, and this will leave players open to false accusations and extortion.

I don't think that's how the typical rank and file guy, who keeps his nose clean, doesn't get in trouble with the law, doesn't associate with crazy women, etc., thinks. I do not believe for a second the typical NFL player cares so much about how Article 46 impacts him that he would be willing to sacrifice revenue shares to get rid of it.

Typical NFL players are not typical. Quite a few of them are young and single and will listen to their agents who want to protect their assets. It's a very long off season with a lot of partying to do.

Ah yes... the wise counsel of the sports agent. Now that is a group of people not even remotely worried about revenues. ;)

I hope we have a short season next CBA, let the owners lose a billion a weekend and see if they aren't willing to treat the people that make that money possible; fairly. If football starts on time that year I'll expect another 10 years of this BS.

Due process for player suspensions, NFLPA involvement in player discipline from the beginning, this appeals process is BS and encourages harsh punishment initially because they know NFLPA will appeal anyway. If a legal issue arises with a player, but no legal recourse comes from it, the league should have a maximum limit in those situations, maybe one game for conduct detrimental, something just enough to discourage being in a bad spot.

If I were leading the NFLPA their would be no football until marijuana is completely removed from testing. No not because of how it has impacted the Cowboys. It's just really fn stupid at this point, it's available medically just about everywhere football is played, no employer should have the right to limit your treatment options for your health or risk your livelihood. Not only does it work wonders on your body, aiding in recovery, but we are finding out that it can reduce inflammation on your brain. With the NFLs findings on head injuries over a career being scary enough to stop researching, my guess is they know their cash cow is at risk, it would be foolish to deny players something beneficial for brain health and longevity.
