Am I imagining this?

CaptainAmerica said:The way I saw it, Cowher was the one who messed up the traditional post-game handshake.
Traditionally as we all know, the 2 head coaches go to the center of the field to shake hands, but Cowher, caught up in the moment, was led toward the side of the field, down toward an end zone, by an NFL official and he never went to the center of the field.
He then seemed to realize it a little bit later and actually mouthed the words, "Where's Mike?", but by then it was too late because too many people were on the field and Holmgren was already in the locker room.
TonyS said:I saw it the same way, but I didn't think he got very far, maybe to the 30 before he realized his mistake and started back. I think that, no matter what is happening after the game, that the handshake needs to happen on the field.
Its part of the game.
Canadian BoyzFan said:I think it is more impresive that he went to the winners locker to do it. Sorry, but there is no story here. Everyone is always trying to stir some crap up. This same topic was all over another Football board I frequent.
Let it go.

There were about 500 more people on the field and a ton more equipment than normal.
The handshake isn't for the fans -- it remains a classy act of good sportsmanship whether it is seen by everyone or not.
