Did Holmgren shake Cowher's hand after the game?

I came in as it was ending and didn't see Holmgren and Cowher make the traditional handshake. It looked like Cowher was waiting for him to show up and he never did. Cowher looked deflated.

Am I imagining this?

He didn't.

However, he went to locker after the game to congratulate Cowher. Holmgren is all class.

Yes he did. It wasn't the traditional hand shake right after the game in the middle of the field. Because of all the hoopla after the game, Holmgren got wisked away are something, but he did go to the Steelers locker room and congradulate him and shook his hand.

The way I saw it, Cowher was the one who messed up the traditional post-game handshake.

Traditionally as we all know, the 2 head coaches go to the center of the field to shake hands, but Cowher, caught up in the moment, was led toward the side of the field, down toward an end zone, by an NFL official and he never went to the center of the field.

He then seemed to realize it a little bit later and actually mouthed the words, "Where's Mike?", but by then it was too late because too many people were on the field and Holmgren was already in the locker room.

I saw it the same way, but I didn't think he got very far, maybe to the 30 before he realized his mistake and started back. I think that, no matter what is happening after the game, that the handshake needs to happen on the field.

Its part of the game.

Poor analysis.

There were about 500 more people on the field and a ton more equipment than normal.

The handshake isn't for the fans -- it remains a classy act of good sportsmanship whether it is seen by everyone or not.

I think it is more impresive that he went to the winners locker to do it. Sorry, but there is no story here. Everyone is always trying to stir some crap up. This same topic was all over another Football board I frequent.

Let it go.

you wouldn't be taking the high road here if you had to sit through an awful performance of "Oh Canada" now would you?

Respectfully disagree. The handshake is for the fans as well. For people like my two sons who can see that, even when you lose, you shake the other man's hand and congratulate them.

I'm not disparaging Holmgren, I understand that it was a mixup. I just missed having it occur so my kids could see it. They weren't around for the lockerroom congrats, and yes, that is a classy move as well.
