What I'd like to know is how other teams I watch get receivers open as much as they do, but our receivers are smothered.

cant wait until this fat dumbo is gone the only chance cowboys have of over coming jerry + stephen + dak is a amazing coach. i give jerry a 1% chance of hiring a amazing coach but that is better then the 0% chance with mccarthy.

This has all happened before.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2828649-what-happened-in-green-bay

”The problem for McCarthy was that as the talent drained, he failed to innovate. His scheme went stale and he didn't adapt. As one personnel man puts it, McCarthy "got full off his own juice." He believed his system—not the Packers' absurd amount of talent—was the foundation for the offensive success. But raw rookies cannot bust free one-on-one like, say, Jennings or Nelson or Jones.”
Let’s be clear, McCarthy has not done a good job.

But Jerry looks like a dbag here praising his roster building (which is laughable) and laying this all on the coaching staff.

I absolutely agree that MM is a worthless coach. But I can't help but wonder how much freedom he has to actually try to coach when Jerry's tentacles are all over everything that goes on in the franchise.

Yup.

This is Big Mike…

“Bleacher Report talked to dozens of players, coaches and personnel men who shared time in Green Bay with Rodgers and McCarthy in search of an answer.
Virtually all of them agree this era of Packers football is missing rings. Many rings. And sure, there's blame to spread. Some cite former general manager Ted Thompson literally falling asleep in meetings by the end of his tenure. Some cite the defense's innate ability to self-destruct each January.
But central to it all are the two Packers who lasted the longest.
McCarthy and Rodgers.”

Assuming Jerry doesn't force MM to sign an NDA on his way out the door.
Well that he can’t do….unless Mike agrees, which would probably be part of a payoff.

Unfortunately an NDA was probably part of the initial contract.

Jerry isn’t stupid in that regard. I’m sure there is plenty of dirt on him yet he has managed to cover himself. I wonder how many millions total he has paid in hush money over his life.

Those girls don’t get on that party bus with the ability to sell the story later on as one very small example.

I doubt he would allow a HC the shot to expose how inept he is at running a football team….and all else that they know. The things the public knows about are a joke, what we DONT know would probably only make us feel worse anyway.

Expose him? Embarrass him? I don’t think that guy feels any shame at all about anything.

I will never defend MM in any way, but in my opinion part of the blame Green Bay is 'missing rings' should fall on the former players shoulders as well. Think back to the 1995 season for the Cowboys - it was the 2nd year of Switzer's reign, and it was well known that he was despised by Aikman and many others on the roster. The players took it upon themselves to win super bowl 30, and they did it in spite of Switzer.

My question is why the Packers players didn't take a similar approach if they thought they were so good. If MM sucked as a HC the players could have stepped up and won in spite of him, but they didn't.

He's plenty dumb in other areas. Look at recent contracts he handed out. The whole party bus thing. The drunken videos. The list goes on and on. Would anyone be surprised if it came out that Jerry was involved in the 'white house' scandal back in the 1990's? I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

Oh no doubt. I meant as far as covering his tracks better than his ex pal Snyder did about the dirt anyone has on him.

There’s no tell all coming from Mike one way or another.

"We're not where we want to be. It ultimately is my responsibility. I'm fully aware of that," McCarthy said. "We are very diligent. We're on top of what we want to do. Just like anything, I just came from a walkthrough. The walkthroughs have been good. It always goes back to communication. Just going back to the Detroit game, I know it was the first run of the game. We practiced it a number of times. I got the look we were expecting, and we had the wrong declaration based on communication. So at the end of it, we just got to tighten up our communication and make sure our guys are playing fast. The ability to play faster than the opponent. With that comes confidence, which you're clearly working towards. That's what we want to do Sunday night and get that win."

1. McCarthy said after Moore was let go, he was too aggressive and he tried scoring too fast. This didn’t allow the defense time to rest. As is obvious, this was a blatant like by Mike.

2. The Dallas offense is predicated on getting the play call in early, the hope is to catch defenses off guard in personnel packages. Out one-trick pony at QB can’t sit and diagnose a defense pre-snap.

3. I didn’t hear the interview, but Jerry is defending the talent on the team in this quote, meaning himself as the GM. He also said that Mike McCarthy was a big part of the offensive success last year multiple times.
