Did McCarthy purposefully tank

No, there was a chance he could go to the playoffs. Why would he jeopardize that? Especially with boy wonder Kellen Moore who just signed an extension (with a wink and a handshake) looking over his shoulder.

No. The only way that theory would be some what believable is if Washington already played and won

No , but in a weird way we would hope that he did because at least we would feel he is smarter than that. But unfortunately, he was trying to win and his screw ups were really him.

He challenged like 2 calls all year.
He challenged 1 in 2018.

I just don't think he challenges unless he certain of a reversal.

And in this case I don't know any of us that can be certain that's reversed.
Was it caught? Nope.
Did they call is caught? Yup.
Is there enough to say that was not a catch? Far more iffy.

End of day they had a chance to win the game and you have to go score a TD there.
They had the ball on the 7 with a 1st Down.
That's simply a must go get a TD situation.

for a top 10 pick when he chose not to challenge the obvious Q4 incompletion?

Just want to hear opinions.
Ok, Das...you want to roll with McCarthy waiting to throw the last game of the season to finish 6-10 for a CHANCE at the 10th selection.
But - six weeks \ 1 & 1/2 months earlier...the Cowboys limped into Minneapolis on a four-game losing streak, 2-7 record...but not lose that game to definitely remain in the running for a top 5 pick -recall --Dallas dropped the next two for a possible 2-10 record with 4 games remaining.
The Cowboys were ineptly prepared for the season finale -but it had nothing to do with a deliberate tank. The putrid start last Sunday was just indicative of the how bad the 2020 Dallas Cowboys season went- from start to finish.

I mean, I would love to know that was the case. The truth is, though, McCarthy just isn't good at making important decisions in the heat of the moment. Bitter as Aaron Rodgers might be, he's right. McCarthy has a pretty poor football IQ.

Im not sure McCarthy knows his fat arse from a hole in the ground much less make important decisions for the franchise. With that said, I think the same thing about ownership...so what do I know...?
