Did our GM even ask Eberflus?

Did our GM even ask Eberflus during his interview for DC about his schemes and how they might fit in with our current personnel? Any decent GM would have known to ask that.

Or maybe our GM never asked that because the owner did the interview instead and based his decision on his comfort level with the coach. In other words the owner but his own comfort level ahead the best choice based upon our current players.

So yeah, in the cowboys organization, GM jerry is overridden by owner jerry. What could go wrong?
Now you're just making stuff up to complain about JJ. There is far too much real things to complain about.

.

Also......word is that before Jerry agreed to trade Parsons, Schotty and Eberflus promised they could scheme the pressures we would miss. Those pressures were nowhere to be found Sunday against one of the worst O-lines,
Isn't there a thread on first page currently saying the Cowboys D created 17 pressures on Sunday?

Eberflus, don't be Mike Nolan . Evolve with your players. Don't be stubborn. Find what they do well, and adapt your scheme to THEM.
He’s going to be an epic failure here - I’ve seen this episode too many times.

Lol 30 years and counting

As I've said before, Jerry makes most of the big decisions like a head coach would, so the Clowney signing which evidently occurred during the Giants game lol was done without consulting the "head coach" or the defensive coordinator. Ol' Schotty in his interview indicated he knew nothing about adding Clowney, but that is classic Jerry. The only role of the Dallas head coach is to be the scapegoat for Jerry's failures.

Did Parcells want T.O.? Is Wade Phillips the only head coach in NFL history to be under a gag order, forbidden by Jerry to speak to the press for months? And best of all, we are the only NFL franchise that operates this way and the only franchise that negotiates with start players in Aug/Sept instead of March/April. Lather, rinse, repeat. Rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. No wonder the Eagles fans heap praise on Jerry at their home games.

When things are so messed up for decades, it starts to feel kinda "normal" in Dallas, but we know they are far from normal. If we can actually make it to the elusive NFC championship game for the first time in three decades, I will give all the credit to Jerry and Jerry alone because he has been micromanaging this franchise to death ever since the talent Jimmy assemble aged out. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I watch this train wreck from afar, wondering if things will ever change.

Did you watch the press conference with him today?

As a GM you should know he is a passive average 4-3 DC who plays zone. Our biggest weapon was Micah whose best position would be 3-4 OLB and we have CBs who cant play zone and are bad tacklers. Should never have even interviewed Eberflus. Should have got an aggressive 3-4 DC and resigned Micah and a real NT
They didn’t ,‘move on

High quality post right here, rearranging the deck chairs on The Titanic, accurate line.

Yeah? And how’d that work out for us?? We won IN SPITE OF OUR WORTHLESS DC.
what's your point?

I pasted his comment that said qb pressures were non existent and compared it to another thread saying we had 17 QB pressures

Both can't be true and I'm trying to figure out which version of events is accurate

But thanks for getting wound up over a legitimate question about conflicting information on page 1 of this forum

I believe Scotty was involved on the DC

The Eagles were unstoppable first half then the double halftime ( thunder ) took the wind out of both teams .
I disagree with that statement. Dallas gave up 1 pass over 8 yards in the 1st half. Held their own against the run. They only thing they could not stop was Hurts running & that was mostly because Fowler doesn't understand containment.

Eberflus coached LBs here for a while. His work as DC in Indy is why he was a hot commodity for the head coaching job in Chicago. Chicago’s roster is a mess, which is why the great Ben Johnson is also struggling.

Give Eberflus some time. It’s been two games, 1 good, 1 bad. The bad one was more about blown coverages than about being destroyed up and down the field. Most of our stars are on offense. The defense needs help. Don’t run the DC out of town in one month or even one season. Give him a chance to see what he needs and get those players.
