Did RW have a Lisfranc injury (a fracture of the midfoot)?

Plantar fasciitis is a painful inflammatory condition of the foot caused by excessive wear to the plantar fascia that supports the arches of the foot or by biomechanical faults that cause abnormal pronation.[1] The pain usually is felt on the underside of the heel, and is often most intense with the first steps of the day. It is commonly associated with long periods of weight bearing or sudden changes in weight bearing or activity. Jobs that require a lot of walking on hard surfaces, shoes with little or no arch support, and over activity are also associated with the condition.

Plantar fasciitis was formerly called "a dog's heel" in the United Kingdom. It is sometimes known as "flip-flop disease" among US podiatrists. The condition often results in a heel spur on the calcaneus, in which case it is the underlying condition, and not the spur itself, which produces the pain.[1]

but if we draft Tebow, he will heal all our players injuries...we wont even require team doctors or trainers

I have a feeling Tebow will forgo the draft and become an evangelical preacher. So much healing power can't be wasted on dominating the NFL, he has much much bigger things to worry about.

Plantar Fascitis isn't a real big thing. I can definitely slow up a player for maybe a season, but isn't career threatening and the player should be able to fine by, at the latest, the next season. I had Plantar Fascitis when I was in HS playing b-ball. Feels like the arch of your foot is on fire and once you start running it flares up again. I just had to play thru it and then rest it after the season was over and by a month or so it was healed.

Lisc Franc is a pretty serious injury. In the past Lisc Franc could mean the ending of a career, but now it seems like that's less and less the case and more and more players can usually play through it and be back to their old selves the next season.

His foot must have been a 'mess' before he got here.

Jerry either didn't do his HW, or he was freaking out when Romo went down and wanted Roy at absolutely all costs.

This is a weird overreaction to the OP.

It was my initial reaction to my belief that Roy was pretty banged up before we got him.

He never looked quite right from the word go.

Weird, I guess?

Weird to take a shot at Jerry over a misreport on RWs plantar fasciitis.

It was a PF injury, not a LF injury, and there's no reason to think it was necessarily a chronic problem. It's certainly never been reported that Williams had a PF flare up before we drafted him.

This news scares me just a little. I really hope he's ready come the season opener. He sounds worried to me... like he's not sure he'll be 100% or something. Ouch! That would NOT be a good start to the Romo/Williams era!

I'm just saying a guy with a history of injuries, and he was having a noticeably off-season.

I thought we overpaid and overreacted then, and I still feel the same way now. You never give up that much, mid-season, for damaged goods.

How much better shape would we be in for this draft with 14 picks. Thats why I took a shot at Jerry.

Or Jerry knows that injuries tend to heal and even if Roy didn't work out in 08', he still have 4 years to make good on the trade.

Jerry didn't know until after the trade that RW has a wooden leg and they found termites in his foot. :)

OK Linsfranc is not the same as plantar fasciitis...

There is a big difference as stated earlier. Problem is Lisfranc's injury could be a problem depending on how it was treated...i.e. is the midfoot stable now and without symptoms.

I hope that Roy's problem has been treated or we could end up with another Ryan Leaf.

he ran poor routes and Romo didn't trust him, end of story

Yes, he did run poor routes, but did you EVER consider that a BIG reason why he ran the poor routes was because he couldn't cut?
