Taking into consideration that you must have 2 feet down and be in control of the ball - you be the judge ...

Based on that no. But man, that was a hard call to make.

True ...but this was the Superbowl! You'd think that the officials would make every effort to capture this type of image before they make that type of game-changing call.

Any other thoughts?

i new santonio's foot wasn't down. therefore the game could have resulted differently, im not sayin arizona would have won it just would have been different.

show all the still shots. I still have more of a problem with the ref running into the endzone to call a TD without even looking at the other ref for confirmation when that NEVER happens on a play this close.

I always thought his foot looked like it was off the ground, but from the replays I could see there is no way I could change the call.
NFL needs to get some better video/graphic people for the reviews next year.
the Love for the Stealers just amazes me.

This also doesn't mean that the Cards would have held them on the next play I think it was only third down, but almost anything could have happen on the next play.

I had three Steeler fans in my face yesterday.

I sure do hate the Steelers. :bang2: :yousuck: :grrr: :steelers: :fact:

Super Bowl? You think that just because that was the Super Bowl that should mean something significant? That simply means the Stealers can expect most of the calls go to their way.

That right foot initially started up when he caught the ball, then came down, then came back up... A picture does no justice. Watch a close video and it's blatantly obvious that was a catch.

Everyone knows that the Cardinals weren't going to get any calls, I'm not sure that Harrison made it in on that TD before halftime and that roughing call on Big Ben, please.

I dont think tis blatantly obvious, but I also dont think there was enough evidence to overturn the call...the same would have applied had they ruled it incomplete

The refs found plenty of other calls/non calls to srcew up though

How about a frame by frame of the play? You can show one frame where his foot isnt touching to make it seem like he didnt get it to persuade everyone that his foot wasnt down, Please show me some frame by frames.

I dont like the Steelers but I think we are just some jealous fans and are looking and searching reasons for a franchise better than ours from top to bottom not to be winners but they won the game and we didnt make the playoffs...

The refs were horrible

It was a 1 sided game called, which is awful especially since it was the Superbowl

Laying all the official aside, the Cards played a classy football game, unless the Steelers, they played dirty and I'm pretty sure not everything was caught, but the few unsportsmanlike that was caught was a disgrace to the game.

The Harrison situation makes me sick to my stomach. He's a piece of ish to the highset degree.

Bingo!!! That still pic proves nothing. I hate the Steelers but his right toe was on the ground with his left toe as he made the catch then his right foot slid up his left foot as he was going out of bounds. The video proves it but that pic proves jack.... It was a great catch in the clutch...

No, the Steelers won the Super Bowl.

That photo does not show whether his right foot hit the ground before or even after that shot. In the replays during the game I am convinced he got both toes down. There's not even a doubt in my mind.

No doubt in my mind either. You can actually see his right toe hit the ground and see how his foot actually stopped momentum once it reached the ground along with his left foot. The slow motion replay clearly shows it..

It was a poorly officiated game all around and if you think about it, the officiating in this game really was a great example of how officiating in general went in the NFL for 2008. Think of how often officiating made headlines this year, right from Hoculi in Week 1 to the SB.

2 out of the 3 unsportsmanlike conduct calls on AZ on that one drive were ticky tack. The PI on AZ on the one pass to Ward in the second half was way off, the holding call for the safety is questionable, Harrsion beating down Francisco on the punt typically results in an ejection from the game but hey, its the Steelers right? I never bought Holmes got both feet down (was my first reaction during the actual play and i haven't been swayed since), no penalty on the Holmes using the ball as a prop and then they didn't really stop and truly review the last play with Warner.

I understand human error blah blah blah but when the nfl is making headlines because of officiating instead of teams/games then there's a problem. 2008 was a bad officiating year. Hopefully they can progress forward and clean some things up for 2009.

But also ask yourself this...have the refs gotten worse? or have the games gotten so important that more things are scrutinized giving the appearance refs have gotten worse?

Can you tell I hate the Steelers?

Steelers won. End of story. Cardinals were lucky that he didn't make the other touchdown catch before that play.
