I dont think there's any doubt that whatever happened to him on that opening series was more than a "stinger"

but once again Wade went into a shell at the thought of a rookie seeing significant time

That's one of the things about Wade that drives me nuts. If Felix and Barber don't go down last year, we still consider Choice a special teams player. Butler gets in a game on a handful of plays and gets 2 sacks and a forced fumble then rides the bench the next week. We have wide receivers that can't run the right route half the time yet we leave the best route runner on the team inactive each week.

In fairness I doubt they want rookie converted DE Butler in nickel coverage packages at this point. To get him on the field you need to sit Spencer or Ware.

Not that getting a rotation, particularly for Spencer, would be a bad thing.
