Given that they are a loss away, tomorrow night or next week ,from Carolina leading that division, he should be saving those fist bumps for the moment. In fact Carolina controls their own destiny, win out and its theirs.

Doesn't Tampa control their own destiny also?

They can't do worse than the 5th seed. This was the season finale as far as I'm concerned...the final two weeks should be treated as glorified preseason games

No resting starters, but I'm going to assume Philly won't lose next week. If Philly wins next week, you rest everyone against the commanders. They shouldn't be out there at all. Especially defensively.

Somewhere Tom Brady fist pumps.
Assuming they can beat Carolina next week.

Which brings up an interesting topic. Who would we rather play in Wild Card round. Car or TB?

That’s a huge game for Cowboy fans to be rooting for.

Carolina. I'll take on Sam Darnold in a playoff game over Brady, every day. Yes, they have different strengths/weaknesses, but give me Darnold over the GOAT.

I hear ya. But what if Panthers are hot and playing better than the Bucs? Maybe we wouldn’t rather face them. Just saying . Be careful what we wish for.

The win today certainly makes next week’s game against Tennessee more interesting. If the Cowboys win and Philly were to lose to New Orleans, things could get real interesting entering week 18. It’s pretty long odds that they would lose out and we would win out but crazier things have happened.

You could be correct . I just think you start shelving players you knock off any momentum going into the post season . People might disagree with me in this point but doesn’t the ticket buyer have a right not expect Dallas to treat this as exhibition football ?
Dallas definitely won't and shouldn't.

Tennessee on the other hand could maybe use it. Their momentum is in the wrong direction right now.

God. Had Dallas only won last week. The race is much closer now

Don't blow huge late leads against below average teams in Jax/GB and we are sitting in 1st place right now and have the 1 seed. Gut wrenching when you think about it. The 1 seed means even more in today's setup because that's the only seed that gets the bye. Those 2 blown games are the difference between us having to win 3 straight road playoff games vs 2 home playoff games.

Those 2 games absolutely should not have been losses. You don't blow those leads in the NFL. Those 2 losses will be our undoing in the end. We aren't winning 3 straight on the road.

There's been a lot of changes in the format so I'm not sure how the playoffs will be. It looks like we will be the top wildcard team does that mean we'll play the worst division winner, or the other wildcard team? Philly will have the easiest path by the old rules that would mean we would go to Minnesota if they win their first round and we would play Philly in the championship game? I don't know if that's been changed, or not?

The 5th seed, the best non-division winner, plays the worst division winner, the 4th seed. Currently we are 5th and Tampa is 4th, so Dallas plays at Tampa round 1.

Philly, assuming they dont lose their next two games, will clinch the #1 seed and will get a bye round 1 and will play the lowest remaining seed that advances to round 2. So if Dallas beats Tampa and assuming the 6th and 7th seeds both lose, Dallas would play at Philly in round 2.

Dallas still has a very small chance at the #1 seed...........this requires Dallas winning their last 2 games and Philly losing their last 2 games. We also need the Vikes to lose 1 of their last 2 as well. Not very likely but not totally out of the realm of possibility.

I don't seem them doing that Thursday with the 1 seed still possible, even if not likely. If it's not in play in Week 18 then I think they'll sit several guys.
Considering it is also going to be a 10 day rest prior to the last game of the regular season, it might be a better idea to give him a rest in the final game if there isn’t any chance left for #1 seed.

Damn. A lot of eagle’s supporters think there’s “no way” they can lose out. Ok.

The Saints can beat the Eagles especially if Lane Johnson and Hurts are out.
The cowboys barely beat the eagles. I disagree. The cowboys have no chance at the one seed. Rest parsons the next two games. He told everyone he needs a break. Give the only chance they have at a superbowl what he asks. He asked for a break today because he is worn thin. Accept the fact Dallas has to beat the bucs. They don't need parsons to be the bucs. But if they rest the man he will single handed beat them.

I can’t speak for everyone but I hate seeing these guys not play. This has to be the worst team in the league after byes or long rest. They never come in prepared.

That was the Garrett era. McCarthy will have them ready

Thank you. Nothing has really changed then.
