Did we pass on any FS in the draft to get Carp?

Can we give Watkins some time before we declare him a bust as well ???

I am not calling him a bust yet. I am justing wondering if we could have had a better player to fill this position. Watkins may get with it soon, or never.

BTW, I have read that D. Joesph has had his struggles this year as well,,I believe with the Packers.

We won't know Watkins is better or worse until he gets playing time.
Unless Landry falls into our laptops in the first round, I don't want to reach for a FS.

I wanted Ko Simpson and wondered why he dropped so far.

It came out that he was really slow from a mental stand point.

I don't see how he can be any slower than Ed Reed?

I agree, it has to be BPA in the draft. But with that in mind, I'm sure there were several players bunched together in ratings ... Carpenter, Fasano, Green weren't the best of picks.

No, no, no !!!

It's not BPA.

It's BPWDIC or BIPFNJ.

(Best Player Whose Dad I Coached) or (Best Italian Player from New Jersey).

Wahssamahtta wit yous?

If anyone stopped to actually watch Carpenter play lately, they would see that he is doing well when he gets playing time.

If he was doing better, he'd have more playing time.

Or acquire/draft a CB and move Henry over.

I have jumped on the "Roy Williams needs to move to LB" bandwagon. He'd probably be a monster there. He could be used very creatively there.

So, IMO, the Cowboys need a SS too.

I've been screaming for that since we got him. Henry has the size, speed, AND smarts to be an outstanding FS. I don't care how much we are paying him. If everyone feels so strongly about getting one, then I guess he's worth it. I was hoping we would take Cromarte with the 1st pick, (who SD took w/the very next pick), because of his athletic ability. After all, isn't that what they say-Best Available Athlete? SD is drooling over his skills & potential. He's already playing the nickel back, and I'm sure will start next year. Just think if we had Cromarte at CB & Henry at FS right now. We would be a lot tougher to hit the home run on, that's for sure.

I agree this is the easiest way to resolve the situation if we can find a good CB.....but I have heard that he make too much $$ for a FS.

Huff was the only S worth drafting that high, correct?

..and Donte Whitner who went something like 8th overall to the Bills when he was supposed to go around our pick.

I don't mind the Carpenter pick, I still he'll contribute greatly next year and hopefully start. The pick I didn't/and still don't like is the Fasano one. If we were running the 2 TE offense I think some like Leonard Pope would have been ideal, not a poor mans Witten. I remember alot of people wanted that linemen that went to the Chargers. But, you know hindsight is 20/20.

Fasano has played very well considering he is a rookie and his role.

I still wanna see how Watkins turns out.

He has that size and speed that cant be taught so there is a lot of up side potential.

I think after KD's performance this week Watkins can thank him for the playing time he will receive this weekend and in the future.

Maybe we will get our 1st glimpse or Parrish this weekend in a Star?

I hope so.

Yeah, I used to say that (too much money) but if the choice is between allocating too much salary cap to the position and getting beaten like a drum on a weekly basis, maybe it is worth it ....

And I want to see something done about Roy Williams. He's a 'tweener - half linebacker, half safety. The plan for next preseason: See what he can do at LB.
