Did you guys see Switzer's top gear on his punt return?

It's about time. I mean this guy was a 1st round selection (Baltimore Ravens) in the Moving the Chains Fan Mock Draft on NFL Radio.

The front flip into the end zone was pretty disappointing. The form and execution was off. I thought he was going to hurt himself. I’s Give it a 5 on the 1-10 scale.

I believe he's in the top 5 on kickoff return avg, and not every punt is returnable. He's a mid-round rookie, expectations are sometimes unrealistic.

I think he's doing fine.

As far as Beasley goes agreed his job is not in jeopardy.

Judging strictly from his returns lately, Switzer does appear to possibly be coming into his own when it comes to kick returns. As I recall, he was the "toast of the town" early in TC, so evidently his talents were there to be developed prior to his injury situation. Obviously, he's healthy now, so that's seemingly the beginning of some good things to expect from this youngster. It's a good start, even if it was a bit late in coming.

I'll surely be looking forward to seeing him getting involved in Dallas' receiving corps at some point in the future, whether that's to be very soon or possibly next season. Anyhow, for me, at least, it's a relief and a pleasure to see Switzer finally coming into prominence with the Cowboys. It's a shame he was injured earlier but let's just be glad and agree it's better late than never. As of now, he's off and running, folks! :)

Why DOES our team suffer more hamstring injuries than any other?

Not a troll but a genuine concern. What is this staff doing/not doing to be blowing up hammies every year???
 
When he was drafted all the talk was about pairing him and the Beese together in the offensive gameplan. Well it has never happened. Beese is seeing double coverage as Dez no longer attracts that, get Switz on the field at the same time and one of them will get open. Our staff is always slow to adopt new strategies unfortunately. Switz caught everything at NC...

I don't have a problem with keeping Beasley but I think this coaching staff fails to properly use players. There is no reason to not have Switzer in the field and getting him in space. Screens and plays like that would be deadly. Right now we bring him on the field and everybody knows we running jet sweep.

Dak was great using Beasley. Allow him to have 2 explosive players like Beasley and Switzer in the field with Dez/Butler and Zeke would be tough to defend. Seems the excuses are we have to take Witten off the field to get Switzer in. That's a load of crap, that being said in some cases take Witten out and get speed on the field
 
Beasley isn't an issue. Switzer may have a little more top speed, but he's basically the same receiver as Beasley...an underneath pivot route, drag route type. Beasley is actually the one guy that gets open more regularly that Dak is missing.

What I've seen with regards to Beasley is the following:

1. Teams are generally better at defending receivers like him with better tackling corners and feeding these receivers more to the sideline to use the sideline as an extra defender. They'll use more zone in between the numbers so that if they cut inside they have extra defenders to bring them down.

2. Out of all of the WR's on the team, Beasley is the one that is getting open the most often and Dak misses.

3. We were running a lot of 12 personnel earlier in the season to get the run game going and to help Collins, so less opportunities for Beasley.

4. We are too slow at TE and don't have a deep threat as Williams is useless and Dez and Dak have not figured it out yet. We are putting Dez in the slot more often and having him run shorter routes. Witten isn't running much of anything longer than 10 yards and T-Willisn't getting catches on anything deep. That clogs up the underneath stuff and doesn't give Beasley much room to function.

5. Predictable play calling means less favorable matchups.

Essentially, while I have hopes for Switzer, I don't see him doing any better than Beasley at this point. We need more deep threat capabilities from the flankers and the TE to get anybody playing Beasley's spot to get going. And if we want to put Beasley and Switzer on the field in 10 personnel, then we'll greatly need to improve at the flanker positions to allow both of them to run underneath.

It's part of the receivers. When a ball hits them right in the hands....or chest.... And drop it how can you board anybody else.

The main problem is the coach. He doesn't know how to put our players in the right positions to succeed. His long developing routes are no creativity getting them open is the main reason we struggle

Unfortunately, his hamstring injury got him off to a terrible start and seriously impeded his progress as a receiver. I wouldn't be too surprised if it takes until next year before we see him doing anything noteworthy in the pass receiving category, however. His kick returns really appear to be progressing pretty well lately, though. Hopefully, it might signal the beginning of something good for our ST's future.

When you pull crap out of your butt like that how about posting a reference that supports that claim so we can debate the validity of the claim. Otherwise it ain't so and you are just bloviating.

.......and Butler, apparently ran a wrong route at some point this year, and has been put on ice. Had one look thur nite finally and Dak put the ball Out of bounds late to him.........

So what? Tell Witten his butt needs to sit for a few plays! He's not royalty, ferchryssakes! These coaches are timid, reserved, unimaginative, and scared to innovate.

Recipe for disaster.
 
When Switzer ran back that kick Prescott was still being evaluated for the boo boo on his hand. Had the kick not gone for 6 Cooper Rush would have had to come in for that series.

By my calculations, he would have then gone on to have a historic almost Wentz-like career.

Instead it "Rayned" on our parade.
