Did you realize we didn't miss Bruce Carter or Sean Lee?

In all honesty........I haven't missed Sean Lee since he was drafted.

I know this board loves this kid and it's hard not to, but he hasn't helped this team, on the field, at all.

Keep drinking whatever it is.

Why would we have to release Sean Lee? His contract is friendly in that he only gets paid if he's on the field and he's already missed an entire season. Aren't we in good shape with his contract?

We aren't forced to cut him but it is something they have to consider if he isn't healthy and they don't feel he can perform.
He is a cap hit but also a roster spot.

I don't think they do anything of the sort as my expectations detail but it is a possibility.

His cap impact isn't good nor terrible until 2017. But his 5.5m next year is probably about as much if not more than we'll pay any LB even a resigned Ro or Carter.

Against this team we didn't because they are Heavy Run and threw to the edges. Seattle really doesn't throw much to the Middle of the field. Against teams who use the backs and TEs in their passing game, we will.

Honestly, the Seattle game was as close to made to order for us as we can get for a really good team. JMO.

Carter can still make good money and create something great with this young talented supportive cast. If he wants to be the alpha male and get the max FA contract, then should probably let him go, rather than using the franchise tag.

Could make the same argument regarding Murray, but may franchise one or the other.

You always hate to lose a guy you drafted and developed. Especially if it took a couple years ot get the guy to a level worth spending on.
But at the same time as you mention, these guys are about to hit the free agent motherload and seldom do they want to leave a lot of money on the table having never made much as non 1st rounders.

I don't think Dallas can afford Durant, Carter and Ro plus have Sean Lee.(And Lee costs more to release than to keep for 2015).
So I am guessing one guy walks and Carter seems the most likely to get overpaid.

I'd be really tempted to franchise Murray and pay him the huge 2015 salary. RB can be so very good but also for so very short a time period. Guess in the end it isn't much different then giving him a Marion Barber contract knowing you will eat a huge amount to cut him but never paying a high cap hit until you do.

I agree it will be hard to bring Carter back if they plan on signing Ro to a contract and the fact that they drafted Hitchens. Durant is also a FA next year but I would think as an 8 year vet Dallas will be able to get him signed for modest price.

As for Murray I still hope to see a 3 or 4 year deal on him as opposed to placing franchise tag on him. If a deal can't be work then place the franchise tag on him.
