Did Zeke actually talk his way on to the field?

I am happy with the drafting Beebe and Guyton. However only 1 lineman currently playing at a high level is not going to get it done.
Yeah pretty much... If we don't get better line play we are absolutely NOT going to get QB play or better production out of the running game. I THINK the line can replicate what they did against the Steelers if we stick with the power blocking scheme but for whatever reason that second half remains an outlier. The rest of the season we have been firmly entrenched in dancing blocks. Which might work if you had Barry Sanders back there .. He would dance around until he either lost 7 yards or the defense got out of position and he'd take off. We don't have such a back so we need to come up with a different formula.

That also create more holding penalties.

I think drive blocking would lead to fewer holding penalties because the idea is not to try and turn the defender one way or the other which requires more hands. If you just focus on getting into the defender and moving his arse off the ball you can do that 100% with shoulder and leg drive. You only need hands to grab onto the chest plate so he can't throw you off! But that technique has been declared actually legal in the modern NFL. You just have to keep the hands inside the frame of the body.

I recall hearing about Emmitt Smith being asked by a lineman or a coach about his preference in a blocking scheme and his response was something to the effect of, just block them whatever way is easier for you and I will figure out the rest.
