If Brandon Tate is there at the top of the 4th, grab him and let Stanglass go. He can't and won't ever stay healthy with that shoulder injury.

Amen, but Hurd is the one they should cut if comes down to a choice between him and Stanback. To me Hurd= journeyman

but seriously he was drafted in 2007 and has done nothing since. next season is a make or break year for him. so if I was him i would be doing extra practicing with Romo and Roy and try to butter up Romo to throw me the ball more next season.

If it hadn't been for his inuries, he would have been the second best QB on the team last year.....

About him giving oral sex to a gay porn star?

Yeah I heard it too, this stuff is made up all the time to just throw something out there for controversy.

If thats what people heard about it, man, thats one heck of Rumor. Anyone who knows Irvin's history and present, at least whats out there in the media, that would be last thing on earth would be true about him.

We have Skip Bayless Duece running around now? Next thing will be Irvin hates White people?

Ok, so what did you expected he was going to do in Dallas ?

A college QB, learning a new position in the pros, on a team with 13 pro bowlers, and anywhere from 5 to 8 receiving targets ahead of him in the pecking order.

Exactly what did you think he was going to do ?

True...

In our microwave society we expect immediate returns.

Folks seem to have no idea of the concept of developing talent. Sometimes it takes a while. Every team has players that they want to bring along.

Now, I'll agree that this is probably Stanback's last chance. If he doesn't show something this year, then we may need to cut ties. But he deserves a chance in TC.

I remember folks wanting to cut Austin last year. He was a raw talent as well.

Thanks for the info, RCowboy. I've always liked Stanback and don't get all the hate for him. Good guy + good athlete + good work ethic usually = good player. This guy could be a solid contributor if his shoulder holds up.

Nothing against him personally, it wasn't his fault we drafted a QB to WR project in the 4th.

To me that is what the 6th and 7th rounds are for - projects. There is still talent available in the 4th that doesn't need to learn an entirely new position at the highest possible level to contribute. See Barber and Choice.

That said, what's done is done so hopefully it clicks for him this year. Certainly glad to see him reaching out for help.

I dunno 'bout that, Hurd is no Turd. At least he's seen the Endzone and makes plays occasionally.

Stanback has seen the endzone aswell...Granted it was just once but he did it with style. PLus he has shakes and speed hurd doesnt have. Hurd can be a keyshawn style guy, slower jump ball type of guy. Stanback can be a terrell owens type of guy.

:)

Standback should have been doing that from day1... or maybe he has? anyway the Cowboys ruined his development along with most players who dont play right away in Dallas!
