Different Dez

Has anyone else noticed this year that Dez has been quite different. The way he's running his routes. The way he's presenting himself in interviews. Just all around his demeanor has changed. He seems to be very focused this year and I for one am very excited.
It helps when the organization is not toying with you regarding...."should we pay him, should we not"

It's noticeable, but not just with Dez but the whole team. It felt like last year the team and coaching staff kind of expected to go 12-4, like the knew they were just waiting for a playoff run. I think last year's disasterous season lit a fire under everyone's *** in the offseason, as if they know they can't take any more seasons for granted when injuries can ruin one instantly. The only position group not being questioned is the Oline, and that is creating a chip on the rest of the team's shoulders.

It wasn't about paying him or not paying him. It was getting a deal worked out that was good for both sides.
They were going to pay him, but it had to be good terms also.
There was no "toying" to it.
Perception is reality at times...and it was for this player. As an organization...you have been around him long enough to know if you wanted to keep him or not...so either get it done or don't.

This organization built their entire offensive attack around Emmit...and did the same thing to him.

They stuck the ball in DeMarco Murray's gut 500 times..and this team had it's best chance in years...but decided he was not important enough when it was time to get paid.

With the game on the line in Green Bay...this team went to the ONLY guy on the roster who could have made that play...AND he made it...I don't care what Blandino said...yet when it was time to pay him...they made it more dramatic than it had to be.

So I am not sure how an organization...that has more money than anybody else...that makes more money than anybody else(win or lose)...would play emotional games with guys who they are overly reliant on to begin with. You don't want to pay these guys? Then have the coaches develop a system where your skill position players are "plug and play" But this WR corps is bottom 5 in the NFL without Dez. And Jerry...more than anybody else....should know you have to pay to play. Don't recall any drama when it came time to make Travis Frederick the highest paid Center in the history of the NFL!

I have been very critical of his route running in the past and have noticed he's coming off the line with a little burst and moving his feet faster. If the run game is close to what we are anticipating, Dez could have a big year. DC's faced with doubling him or putting the 8th man in the box are in a pick your poison situation. And Dez had a profound effect on the run game in 2014 as both a blocker and decoy. I see a return to that this season. He looks ready to play.

Probably because being the richest team has nothing to do with the salary cap? That's just my opinion though.

Booger isn't the richest owner or the only one that bumps the cap ceiling. They made a TV deal that guarantees every owner can hit the cap ceiling and make a profit before selling 1 ticket.

And I've yet to see a connection between success and the cap but I've seen the opposite from us, the Skins and that Philly Dream Team was a dud. The spending money to solve problems might work in their other business ventures but it doesn't work as well in the NFL.

He did interviews with the local sports radio stations during training camp for the 1st time ever. That has to be because of his new management.

Dez has certainly taken the next step in maturity (Why is the media flipping over his comments on Madden? He himself said he was just joking)

He looks ready for a big year.

I share that perspective. Folks normally tend to mature from the time they're born until they die. Glad to see Dez is normal in that regard.

I've honestly seen him make progress each year. I think he's deserving of that C on his chest. Him witten Romo Lee scandrick Bailey

no....like I said....teams keep who they want
Just like Carolina kept their leading CB last season? No player is worth more than the TEAM. This is the point. You aren't going to cripple your future for 4-5 guys. Look how well that worked out for Detroit and New Orleans.
