There was another post I saw discussing how ridiculous the sport shows are when discussing the Cowboys. Well I just saw a headline from Chris Simms podcast saying "The Broncos show they are a super bowl caliber team." uhm.... what? I think the Broncos are solid.... but they have Bo Nix at QB.

Had Dallas Beat the Iggles in the opener, do you think anyone would be saying that about the Cowboys?

I personally dont care what anyone says, as they dont know anymore than we do about outcomes of games. The NFL is what it is, an absolute roller coaster ride that requires some luck, health, and a stud qb. My point is just that if you just accept the fact that everything said about this team is done for one purpose.... to get eyeballs on their content, then you can just shrug and walk away without giving the BS a 2nd thought.

I am going to the Denver game in a few weeks, and right now, I am damn excited about this. Isnt this what this team and sport is about? enjoying the moment?

Enjoy the season, and dont get too caught up in where football is in your life. I went to the Packer game at AT&T last week. About an hour after I arrived in Dallas, I got a call from my wife telling me she had been admitted to the hospital. about 3 hour laters she was having surgery because she had a pulmonary embolism that could have killed her.

Enjoy the season.

Wow that is scary. Reid, I sincerely hope your wife is ok and recovers quickly from the pulmonary embolism. That is tough.

All the best to you and your whole family.

It was scary. The nurses at the hospital, then her primary care Dr both said the same thing.... she is lucky to be alive. It was the worst day of my life. I have been with my wife since 1986. I cant imagine my life without her.

Wow, I hope your wife is doing ok dude, that is scary stuff for sure! Prayers out to your wife.

No, I think had we beaten Philly we would be in the mix for top story every week, but not many would believe we could get to the big dance with this dumpster fire of a defense. And I agree with you I don't really care what they say from week to week.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I know how you feel about putting priorities in order. The open weekend my wife called me an asked me fast I can travel across country to help her with her mother and moving her out with us. My MIL was not doing well and 24 hours later I was with my wife helping her trying to get her back across country. When I saw my MIL she seemed like she was withering away and I can tell wife was under a lot of stress due to it. We fortunately got her back with us but her mind is staring to show signs of dementia. She is only 70. It has been a rough month but it puts life in perspective. Football is just a small part of it. Don’t stress out about it. Life will go on.

Hope your wife is recovering well.

On topic. I think the cowboys horrific defense has something to do with it. We can debate the wins\losses and to whom. But it’s hard to expect anybody in the media to consider Dallas a potential contender when the defense is this bad.

Unless the cowboys defense shows dramatic improvement. I dont see it changing.

yep.... football... nfl football is a huge part of my life, but very unimportant in the large scheme of things.

Praying for your wife and your family. That’s pretty scary. Keep us posted on how she’s doing. I can’t imagine getting that call.

Assuming wife is okay now? Sorry to hear that. Stinks when you get those type of calls and you already have the distance and no control over it.

Most in the media are just talking heads, making comments to incite commentary among fans, sharing controversial takes etc.
I just don't see how these people still get viewership. It's the Kardashians for some people. It's made up drama.
I miss the days of the Inside the NFL when it was on HBO.
At least for the most part CBS/Fox still have sane people for the pre-game shows.

When your at that Denver game take a good look at the velocity and ability to make all throws on the field that Bo Nix has. And on the flip you will notice Dak absolutely can't throw the ball 35 yards on a rope like Nix.

If Dallas had beaten the iggles or even GB the narrative would be different. The narrative now might not be the same narrative later in the year.

Yeah you gotta be careful I don't listen to rankings and opinions on where my team falls because it makes no sense they do have a sliding scale from one show to the other and media pundit has their own opinions.

Think about it you know the reaction on Get Up this morning they're talking about whether last night's win over the Eagles is a franchise changing win for the New York Giants..
I mean wasn't that what they were saying when they went to the playoffs with Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley and then all of a sudden fell back off the Cliff I mean Danny over reactions in real time are just that they're they don't really think before they speak..

Think it's odd for them to use that term a franchise changing win for the New York Giants over one regular season win against an Eagles team that was still in shock last week and probably didn't take this very serious but I bet they do from here on out....

It's a nice win for the Giants no doubt but this is what crazy things people say I don't see how you can think of it that way at all it's just a single regular season division win it's not your regular For a last place team to be the first place team when it's a division game..

The narratives that keep popping up now Prescott can't throw a ball on a rope 35 yards I mean are we serious prescott may not be an elite quarterback in accuracy but I can promise you he can throw a ball on a row 35 yards if necessary it may not be on a regular basis but that's ridiculous how many more things can we add in when we see noodle armed Drew Brees win Super Bowls and play 19 years in this league but now you need to throw a ball 35 yards on a rope in order to be Super Bowl contender at quarterback and that's strange it's way specific..lmao
